Summary
Guildford recognizes at once that his bride-to-be isn’t suffering from any kind of Affliction, other than that of an arranged marriage. If the sickeningly sweet smell of the fake blood doesn’t give it away, the quick peek at her audience after she’s supposedly fainted is obvious enough. He shakes his head where she can see it. Neither one of them is getting out of this. He supposes it’s easier for him to stomach, however - what’s one more curse on his existence?

Summary
Modern AU - Jane is an overworked medical student at Cambridge who is in dire need of a date to her sister's engagement - all in order to keep Lady Frances from setting her up. She decides to bring the worst guy she can find and make her mother regret her meddling. Guildford is playing in a rock band at the local pub, and Jane of course picks the man she was always going to.
Really just an excuse to give Guildford a little earring.

Summary
He shifts down, again allowing some of the warmth from his palms to seep into her skin before pressing against the tension there too. This time Jane leans into the motion, exhaling intentionally as she feels the intense pressure and subsequent release. Another hold and press, this time moving outward from her spine. The back of her day dress doesn’t leave much room for him to maneuver but he’s covering as much bare skin as he can with each touch.
“You don’t need to do this for me,” she automatically insists, though she doesn’t exactly try to halt him.
“I’m not,” Guildford retorts, not stopping either. “I’m doing it for me - you’ve barely turned a page in the last half hour and I can’t think when you’re over there groaning like a doddard.”
