Summary
Castiel works at the coffee shop near Dean's work, and Dean can't seem to stop turning up there - despite the fact that coffee was never really his thing. He's not quite got the courage to ask Castiel out, though, and Castiel himself doesn't seem to be making any kind of move on Dean - and next thing Dean knows, it seems like his chance is gone forever. Castiel is with someone else, and never liked Dean at all. Things aren't always quite what they seem, though...

Summary
Cas sighed. Prom season. Never his favourite time of year.
And perhaps the worst part of the whole thing was how the seniors were expected to ask out their dates.
“Padlocks!” Balthazar had announced, rattling a box full of them under the noses of the front row of the class the morning before. “Anyone ever heard of the Pont des Arts? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? I thought not. I am surrounded by philistines.”
“Balthazar, you had to google it two days ago,” Cassie had heckled from the back, and the rest of the class had laughed. Balthazar had sneered teasingly back at Cassie, and left the box of padlocks on the teacher’s desk at the front of the room.

Castiel knows exactly who he wants to ask to be his date to prom. When he sees Dean handing his padlock away, he knows that he must have lost his chance forever. Ignoring his best friend is hard, but easier than trying to pretend he isn't upset. But when the night of the prom comes around, whose name will be on Dean's padlock? -

Summary
Cas bounces on his toes, huffing out a breath that floats like fog before his eyes. If the pizza box in his hands wasn’t burning his flesh he’s sure he wouldn’t be able to feel anything below the elbow at this point. He’s really tempted to dig his cell phone out, again, to text the frat-douche who’s probably too stoned or drunk to even remember he’s got a pizza coming
The University of Kansas’ Alpha Sigma Phi branch is one of the oldest and largest fraternities on campus. Cas hates doing deliveries to the sprawling old plantation house. Hates driving up to it to hear music blasting and people having fun––having that ‘traditional college experience’, something Cas is woefully missing out on with his full course load and two part-time jobs. He hates these stupid rich boys with their whole lives handed to them on a silver platter.

Dean Winchester has been asking Castiel Novak out every day since Fifth Year, and so far Castiel has always resolutely said no. He’s going to keep it that way. He’s sure of it.

“His name’s Dean," Cas sighs, "And he’s really stupidly attractive, and when he dances, he feels it, you know? And it makes me feel like I know him, even though I don’t. He makes me feel like… like he’s dancing just for me.”
Gabriel rolls his eyes, “Wow, you’re over-dramatic when you’re horny.”

Summary
Dean should be happy. His best friend and housemate of five years, Castiel, is moving out to live with his boyfriend, Balthazar. Dean's career is going great, so he can easily afford the house on his own now. This is just growing up, moving forward to the next phase of their lives.
It would be awesome, if he weren't in love with Cas.
Well, here we go, he thinks as he opens the refrigerator and digs around for sandwich supplies. First day of the rest of your life. Time to move the fuck on. As he slams his meat and mayo and pickles down on the counter, he considers adding the bottle of whiskey he knows is hiding in the cabinet, but decides that he has enough self-respect to wait 'til five. Then he'll get fucking blackout drunk. Yep. Awesome.

Dean’s smile widens, bringing heat to Cas’s cheeks. “It’s Dean - for you.” Then he’s backing away, back to his team, away from Castiel. “See you around, Castiel.”
Cas opens his mouth because apparently Dean Winchester makes him into a fool. “It’s Cas. For you.”(Dean's a soccer coach, and Cas is a teacher who thinks Dean is dating Charlie.)

“So, you gonna give me a good luck kiss or what?”
It’s clearly one of Dean’s attempts to act like a dick, but once the thought enters Castiel’s mind, he can’t shake it. Castiel has, much to his dismay, developed somewhat of a crush on the other boy. To feel Dean’s lips pressed against his own, even just for a split second, would be… Besides, for all that Dean puts Castiel through, he deserves at least a little payback.

Summary
Dean couldn’t believe it. Of all the people he could possibly have got himself stuck in an elevator with, it just had to be Castiel Novak.
For most of their freshman year, they’d done a pretty good job of avoiding each other on their college campus. Most people didn’t even realise that they knew each other, let alone that they’d almost dated in high school. Their friend groups were entirely separate and they didn’t share any classes. The only thing they had in common was the building they lived in - a fourteen-storey monstrosity with a cold, clammy back stairwell that was best avoided. Dean had never known the alternative - a slightly old, but reliable elevator - to ever malfunction before.
Except here he was, punching 'Request Assistance' repeatedly at one in the morning, with Castiel Novak behind him.

Summary
In many ways, Dean has a good life—a spacious house in the Shenandoah Valley, the thriving farm he inherited from his late father, a devoted brother who lives only an hour and a half away. But he’s missing the one thing he wants most of all: someone he can take care of and build a life with. Or, as Sam would put it, someone to cook for.
He figures finding The One isn’t something he can make happen. But the cooking blog his Instagram followers have been clamoring for? He can do that.
And if flirting with the nerdy far-left activist who found his food pictures brings in more engagement to his culinary creations…well, he tells himself that it’s all part of the social media game.
