Summary
“I was going to drive us back to my house,” he says, sparing a quick look at the traffic light. Still red. “Is that okay? We can go home– to yours if you want to?”
“No,” Chris answers quickly. “No, I…I don’t want to go home without Dad.”
The confession is quiet, whispered under his breath, but Buck hears the plain rawness as loudly as if Chris shouted. Throat constricting, he curls and uncurls his fingers around the steering wheel, grounding himself in the repetitive motion.
Images flicker unabated behind his eyelids. Eddie’s shirt sticky with blood. The cream carpet underneath him staining crimson. Eddie only thinking of Chris’s safety, his eyes fluttering closed when Buck reassures him of it. The hospital bed he’s lying on right now –where Buck left him.

Summary
Buck takes one look out of the corner of his eye and he knows. He knows that glassy-eyed gaze he sees on Eddie's face, the one he's only seen once before on the night Eddie had found out that everyone he'd saved had died anyway. So Buck knows he's running out of time, and that if he doesn't do something soon he might lose Eddie forever.
Eddie feels like shit, but he likes it that way. Because he is shit. He's a piece of shit and everyone should stop trying to pull him out of the hole he's digging for himself.
And Sophia? Sophia's doing amazing. Her life couldn't be better, but then she gets a phone call that sends her on the next flight to California and into far too many conversations with the absolute asshole her brother has managed to get involved with. (Who the fuck even goes by Buck?)
Title from Coma by Guns N' Roses.

Summary
Eddie makes an impulsive decision in his relationship with Buck, but it doesn't go as planned. Tragedy ensues, and Buck spirals.
Based on "reckless driving" by Lizzy McAlpine, but I make the extended metaphor a little more literal.

Summary
Eddie Diaz got struck by lightning. And then he lied about getting checked by a doctor. Then he stayed at the hospital not only the entire time Buck was unconscious, but until he and the rest of the fire family were allowed to see him.
Eddie barely ate, slept, or drank. And he was absolutely out of his mind with worry. And how could he NOT have injuries from the lightning?
Well, Eddie collapses while they’re all gathered in the hospital room.
Buck panics.
And not unlike Buck when he was comatose, Eddie has a chat with some familiar faces. (With a twist or two!)
