Summary
It always starts with the stupid petals.
Konoha gets Hanahaki; determined to hide it, he writes all he can bear of Akaashi into a small book, his guiding post on the other side of the surgery, when he isn't allowed to not know who Akaashi is. It's six months, and it's not like Akaashi really cares that much about him, right? Six months, then he'll disappear without a trace.
Akaashi has other ideas.
[Told in alternating points of view, this is the story of when Konoha got Hanahaki surgery, and forgot Akaashi - and their road back to knowing each other.]

Summary
The situation comes back to mind when he finds Elder McKinley, looking much scruffier than usual, his head in Kevin’s lap, grinning, with a flush across his cheeks. He shares a bemused look with Kimbay, before McKinley pokes him in the jaw.
“You’re gonna cut someone, wi’ that jaaaw-line!” McKinley sort of yells at him, and it’s only then that Kevin realises that suppressed feelings and inhibition lowering substances, combined with the good ol’ Mormon guilt are probably not a great combination.
Yeah, probably best to get him back to the hut before McKinley says anything too self-incriminating.
In which most of the elders get accidentally drunk, McKinley tries to seduce Kevin while being carried by him, and maybe they can salvage something out of this.

Summary
Hanahaki disease: where the vast majority of the population spit up flowers when they're in love.
Not having flowers is abnormal. Right? Because everyone gets flowers at some point, unless... you don't.
Sakusa and Atsumu have both never had flowers, although their attitudes to this differ somewhat.

Summary
Konoha, working the late shift in a Tokyo cafe, has a visitor that shouldn't be unusual - an over-worked salaryman doing overtime. But this one keeps turning up, looking iller each time; maybe Konoha can help him, rather than just being a bystander.

Summary
Akane has never really believed in the supernatural. At least, not until it tries to kill her in the middle of a forest. Saved by a mysterious crow who then gets injured, she manages to escape and get the crow back to the animal hospital where she works.
The crow is far more than it seems, though, and her encounter sparks a swift initiation of the supernatural activity of her area, and just maybe, a special connection.

Summary
“Jonathan,” says Evy, walking straight into his living room without so much as a hello and standing directly in front of him. Her voice is saccharine, so sugary that it puts Jonathan’s teeth on edge. “Did you happen to become a bestselling author while Rick and I were in Luxor over summer?”
Jonathan clears his throat, sinks a little lower in his armchair, and lifts yesterday’s edition of The Egyptian Gazette higher, obscuring the blush he knows he can’t control.
“I have no idea how I’m supposed to answer that, dear sister,” he replies, “seeing as I have absolutely no idea what the current bestselling novels are.”
When Jonathan writes an adventure—definitely not a romance, thank you—novel based on the whole Imhotep debacle, he doesn't expect it to become the bestselling pulp sensation of the decade. With hindsight, perhaps he should have made some of the real life parallels less obvious, especially when it comes to the dashing romantic lead, Abir Rey.
Thankfully, there are no bookshops in the desert, so the chances of Ardeth reading it are blessedly slim.
Probably.

Summary
A rickety old building stood awkwardly and not quite in the middle of Kitguli. It was made of slowly rotting wood, cracked mud and clay, and a small amount of rusty metal. The straw roofing had nearly all flaked away. Nobody knew what it once was, or maybe they did and they didn’t want to disclose that information to the very curious duo of Arnold and Kevin.

Summary
Tonight was nowhere near the first time Connor had broken curfew.
When he had woken up, shivering and covered in a thin layer of sweat, a detail that clung to him after every Hell Dream, a reminder that it wasn’t just a dream, he had expected to get a drink of water, maybe sit on the sofa and read for a while. If he was lucky, or unlucky, he hadn’t figured that out yet, then he wouldn’t be alone for long. Neither of them needed to address what brought them from their beds anymore, the answer was always the same.
Connor hated that it meant that the elder hadn’t slept well. He hated that it meant the other boy had either had yet another nightmare or that he hadn’t even been able to fall asleep for fear of one. But a small, selfish part of him enjoyed the other’s company in the soft candlelight.
Connor and Kevin end up spending most nights together, either comforting one another after a bad night or pretending that bad nights don't exist. But tonight, Kevin has a big question that he needs an answer for.

Summary
The Hell dreams have been getting worse. Ever since Kevin Price strode into Connor's life, they've been getting worse, so bad that he resolves that the only solution is to stop sleeping.
It's a temporary solution. Connor knew it wouldn't last forever. He didn't think, however, that Kevin would be by Connor's side when he awoke from the Hell dream, didn't think Kevin would care so much when he woke up screaming, or wonder why he was still crying.
He didn't think anyone would care at all. He's not sure he understands it.
