An annoyed sigh had Lance grinning.
“Jesus fucking Christ,” the man cursed, voice low enough that only Lance could hear him because of the soft murmuring and shuffling of the other customers in the shop. He rolled his eyes as he stalked up to the counter. “It’s Keith. Like I’ve told you a thousand fucking times.”
Lance pushed the cup—black coffee, gross—toward him and smiled brightly, “Have a great day, Kevin!”

Lance cleared his throat. "Um. Yeah. Why?"
He watched as Keith's expression changed from one of intimidation to open curiosity. "Do you know anything about the floating lights?"
"Floating lights?" Lance mused, and then shook his head. "You're gonna have to be more specific than that, babe."

Summary
After yet another breakup, Lance is ready for a night out on the town. He's been told, yet again, that he's 'too good' to satisfy someone in a relationship, so it's no surprise that he goes in looking for danger and a little bit of rebellion.
Which is exactly how he meets notorious bad boy Keith Kogane. With his leather jacket and you-know-you-want-to-fuck-me attitude, he draws Lance in like a moth to a flame. He simply can't resist him.
And the thing is, Lance knows Keith is toxic. Can see it in the way he smiles and dances from lover to lover. Knows it by the way Keith warns him that he's a one and done kind of guy. He never gives second chances.
Yet, he keeps coming back to Lance, and even Keith isn't sure why. And Lance always welcomes him back with open arms and a warm bed. He can't resist Keith. Despite all the pain, the heartache, and betrayal, Lance can never seem to tell him no.
But is it possible to turn the bad boy good? Or will Lance begin to fall into his own toxic behaviors?
P.S. This fic is based upon the song My Oh My by Camilla Cabello so there will be references to song lyrics throughout the story, but nothing overwhelming I promise.

When their laughter finally died down, their eyes found each other, the two falling into an intimate kind of quietness. Keith realised their bodies were now so close that his bangs tickled Lance’s forehead, the warmth of their skin mingling, Lance’s every exhale grazing his lips. If he tilted his head ever so slightly, their noses would brush.
Lance’s gaze was magnetic. All of a sudden, the air felt much heavier than it had been a minute ago. Keith was hyper aware of the arm curled around his middle, fingers ghosting beneath his shirt. The slow, burning heat that was beginning to pool in his gut was mirrored in Lance’s eyes as they roamed over Keith’s face, his neck, his chest, pausing where his fingers lay against the sliver of exposed skin at his waist.
Keith’s breath hitched.

“There’s a statue of me atop Mount Olympus.”
“The God of Ass?” Keith licked his canines, causing a fire to light in Lance’s stomach. “Or the God of Assholes?"
“Well you’re here with me, so now I have both.”
The General barked out a laugh, masterfully slicing through enemy soldiers that foolishly attempted to climb the stairs as he did, his gaze barely leaving Lance the entire time. “Why don’t you focus on what’s important?”
Lance twirled his spear in his fingers, then threw it right past the General and into the eye of a heavy footed enemy soldier. He smirked. "I am focused on what's important."
ORKeith and Lance are some of the top fighters in the Ancient Greek army, but when Keith suggests they enter an ~arrangement~ to strengthen their bond on the battlefield Lance realizes he might want more...but he can't focus on that anyway when he's trying to be selected for a top secret mission
(I recently learned that male Greek, Roman and Spartan warriors would do *it* as a sign of camaraderie and I'm obsessed with the idea of two soldiers thinking they're just bros in arms... but they actually want to be in their bro's arms)

Lance's hand slides up, lacing his fingers with Keith's. Connecting them, comforting him, letting him know that he's there. Then, the anxiety trickles in. Seeps through from the cage in the far corners of his mind. Tells him it's already too late. That he was made to break and be broken. It's why his mother left, and his foster parents always kicked him out after a month, and why this all happened in the first place.
He lets go of Lance, fingers tingling from where they touched. "I..." I want to fix this. Fix us. "I'll take the couch tonight."

Lance had never seen his mother look as happy as she did in that moment. The nurse had left the room, smiling as though she was proud of the damage she had unknowingly caused.
Of course, she'd just been told that her only son had gotten engaged. The news had lit a small beacon of hope in her life that had been shrouded with darkness for the past three years.
Except, Lance wasn't engaged. His "fiance", who was concussed and sleeping in the hospital bed, was actually just some stranger Lance had been pining over for weeks, and just so happened to be in the right time and right place to save his life.
