Summary
“Shadow, sweetheart, bring me the first-aid kit,” Rouge says, the underlying anger in her tone subsiding a little. “We've got a full-time moron to patch up.”
This time Shadow doesn't stop himself from groaning and he does it particularly loudly, just so his disgruntlement reaches Sonic's ears. As if on cue, the hero limps into the living room and Shadow finally looks up from the yellowed pages. His eyes land on the bloodied mess of blue quills in front of him, who sheepishly smiles in his direction. It almost pulls at Shadow's heartstrings but then Sonic opens his mouth, making him snap out of inspecting his rival's wounds.
“Hey, Shads,” he chirps, unphased by his injuries. “Missed me?”
or: Shadow's distaste for the curse of immortal life isn't new, but the perspective Sonic presents him with is.
