“It is high profile and international,” she deadpanned. “There is more bad news. Specifically bad for you.”
“Awesome,” I shrugged. “Great. What is it?”
Miranda pursed her lips, fighting back a smile. “The protected witness is a movie star. He was in Miami Vice.”

I thought of Tom, of how he let his hair grow out between movies so I would have something to keep my hands busy during movie nights. I thought of his bright eyes and his blinding smile. How his laugh could fill a room, stop people dead in their tracks.
“Yeah, bud.” I nodded. “I guess I do. Tom.”
Grace not know? Question.
“It’s, uhm…” I buzzed my lips. “Complicated. He works with my brother. We’re not married, or anything.”
Explain.
“What, married?” I sighed. “Marriage is, uh, it’s a ceremony. Two people can exchange vows and promise to stay together forever in front of the people they love.”

“And yet you will be heir, regardless of his intentions.” Elaena came closer, wrapping her arm around Rhaenyra’s waist with a soft kiss to her shoulder. “The Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen, first of her name, Queen of the Rhoynar, the Andals, and the First Men, Lady of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm,” she whispered into the crook of her sister’s neck, meeting her eyes in the reflection in front of them, “rider of Syrax, and the Realm’s Delight.”
“I will not be Queen for many years, sister.”
“But does it not sound right? Your titles, all laid out. I left out lover of Elaena Targaryen, of course, but only because it is not official yet.” The younger girl grinned, and it only widened when Rhaenyra returned the smile.
“Yet?” Rhaenyra mimicked, tilting her head. “Quite confident, for a claimant to nothing.”
Elaena pressed another kiss to Rhaenyra’s shoulder, tightening her hold on her waist. “I am claimant to your heart, dear sister. That is all I want for.”

Maelora Targaryen is the daughter of Viserys i Targaryen and Alicent Hightower. Although she has always looked like her mother, she has never been compared to her. The young girl was soft, and sweet, and caring, and took care of everyone around her. While Maelora could often be found in the shadows of the castle, no one but her mother and grandsire minded, knowing she was only curious.
