“I don’t know how to be in a relationship,” Clint admits one night after a failed third date with a girl he met through the animal shelter where he volunteers walking the dogs. She’s cute, but obviously has limited tolerance for his bullshit, and “quirky and charming” only goes so far. Sometimes on his days off he can’t get out of bed in the morning from indecision. Sometimes he can’t speak, let alone tell a girl what she wants to hear.
“Maybe you just don’t know how to be in a neurotypical relationship,” Bruce gently suggests, laying his hand on top of Clint’s on the counter.

Steve approaches, cautious even though Tony’s physically smaller and weaker than him. He knows who the prey actually is in this relationship. “Let’s toast… to our friends,” Tony offers, mild, holding up his glass. Steve clinks, suspicious.
“To friends.”
“You know… they’re not going to be able to decide whether to see you as Captain America or as Stark’s little bit of something on the side, now.” Tony smirks as he delivers the punchline, and Steve inhales sharply. He still takes a sip as Tony does, the liquid smooth and smokey on his tongue and warm going down. “You wanna be my trophy husband? A prize I can show off? Cause we could do that.”

Original Prompt: "Omegas are incredibly rare and it's seen as good fortune to the pack if they have a bonded omega. So when one comes of age, every alpha in the pack has to attend their first heat in the hopes of finding the omegas match, and if a knotting takes place they're considered mated.
Jeff's happily married to beta Jatred, and hates the first heat ceremonies, but has no choice about participating. He always hangs back, hoping the omega will mate before his turn, but when the pack leader's youngest son has his ceremony, Jeff finds himself bonded to Jensen.
It's hard on all of them, Jared's jealous at first, and Jensen feels like he's intruding on a relationship where he isn't wanted. But the three of them have to figure it out in a hurry once they find out that Jensen's pregnant."

How an alpha reacts to an omega's heat scent varies. Some omegas attract lots of alphas powerfully. Omega!Clint is on the other end of the spectrum...far on the other end. He tries to get used to being alone. He's not very successful.
Warning Clarification: Okay, I didn't tag this fic non-con or dub-con because all sexual content is 100% desired by both people involved. However, the set up of how alphas react to omegas means that there is some not-even-remotely-graphic, theoretical reference to non-con and dub-con situations. Plus Clint and Phil don't have time to chat, before. I think the story is OK, but you know your triggers best.
