Summary
“Okay but can I leave her with you?”, Agatha asks, drumming her finger on the table. This has been taking enough of her time. For a moment she feels as if the question makes the kitten turn its head towards her. But then it’s obviously for the noise and not because it actually understands Agatha. Right?
Rio disguises herself as a little kitten to be able to be closer to Agatha.

Summary
She lifted the flashlight up, and her brow furrowed in fright and mystification at the sight in front of her.
A pale, bleeding woman was sitting in the bathtub with her arm over her face, covering her eyes.
“Turn the light…” A wild growl. “Turn the light off!” the woman pleaded, as if she was being martyred by the light falling on her eyes.
“Who the hell are you?” Agatha yelled in response as she took a step forward, walking on the blood-smeared, cold floor while directing the sharp knife at the woman.

The lights were off; the house was dark and hushed.
The walls were marked with fresh, warm blood.
The heavy grunts and growls of agony were getting louder and louder.Months after the death of her son during a moonlit night in the middle of the woods, surrounded by the whipping wind—after seeing his weak, little body, marked harshly and smeared with viscous, ebon blood—Agatha would step inside through the ajar door, into the darkness of her house, and the soles of her feet would step on the same dark blood she couldn't get rid of because its reeking, rusty smell lingered, no matter how many times she washed her hands with bleach.

“Rio, Rio,” Agatha is slurring, which at first makes Rio smile, because she’s saying her name. Agatha is dreaming of her.
But then horror washes over her like a tidal wave of anguish as the spirit witch whimpers, the sound broken and laced with fear.
“Rio… no… please… not Nicky… please, not Nicky… please, he’s only six, please let him live, my love, please, give him more time…”
Rio feels Agatha calling to her through their soul bond. She arrives, hopeful that Agatha may be ready to forgive her for Nicky and reconcile. What she finds instead shatters her black heart.
