But that wasn’t what I noticed first. Rather, I noticed the absence of something—namely Lockwood’s usual button up, tie, and suit jacket.
In fact, he wasn’t wearing any kind of shirt.

It was where he should be, not here in a rapidly cooling kitchen surrounded by what George imagined were empty cupboards. It was all too easy to get caught up in the fantasy. The idea made him feel special too.

"I was also going to head up to squeeze in a bit of rest before tonight’s case," Lockwood said.
“Right,” Lucy said slowly. Their eyes met, and a look of understanding passed between them.
He paused for a moment before speaking. “Or if you wouldn’t mind, we could—” He took a tentative step towards her and quirked an eyebrow.
His question was clear as day, and so was her answer. “Sure,” Lucy said, as she scooted over to make room for him.
As always, Lockwood’s smile was the brightest thing in the room. He crossed the library in two large strides and settled in next to her on the sofa.
