Summary
There’s about a palm’s width of distance between Eddie’s knee and Buck’s thigh, where they’re both sitting on Eddie’s couch. It would barely take any movement at all for Eddie to just nudge his leg over a little further, press their knees together and let his rest there.
or the one where frank tells eddie he should work on letting himself want things, and eddie starts by cuddling with buck

Summary
Buck frowns. “You don’t remember?”
“Just the accident, and the last - day or so? It’s pretty typical to lose some time around an injury like this, even if we’re not usually that lucky. Honestly, I don’t mind forgetting this one,” Eddie says, half-smiling.
But - Buck can barely process the way Eddie’s joking around, still stuck on the first part of his sentence. “The - um. The last day or so?” he presses, trying to seem more casual than he feels - trying to pretend icy dread isn’t settling into the pit of his stomach.
or - the one where buck and eddie get together the night before a shift - and the next day, an accident erases eddie's memory of the last 24 hours.

Summary
Buck calls, and it’s late - later than Eddie should really be awake, even, but he’s still reeling from that talk with his father, from how abruptly his world tilted, just a little, all while sitting in the kitchen. It’s not like what his dad said fixes everything, but - things feel different now. Hopeful.
Eddie’s still trying to process that, and there’s no one he’d rather talk to about it than Buck, but he’s also not sure how Buck can sense that from another time zone.
“I was just thinking about texting you,” Eddie says as he answers the phone. It’s not exactly true, but - it’s not not true, either.

Summary
After Stede finally does catch up with the Revenge, after the fight is over, he ends up in a very familiar position - healing up in his bed, and finding Ed by his bedside. Only this time, Ed's not quite so happy to see him - at least not right away.
There’s even someone by his bed, just like last time, too. No hand on his this time, but as he squints against the light - he can still see the way it catches in a familiar cloud of grey hair. It stirs a familiar warmth in his chest.
“Ed?” he asks, smiling slightly.
“Don’t fucking call me that. Prick.”

Summary
Trent books himself a writing retreat for Christmas, so he won't just be at home, moping about not getting to spend Christmas with his daughter. It turns out someone else has somehow booked the exact same cottage - that someone else being Coach Ted Lasso.
The voice at the door has a marked, extremely distinct, American accent.
Trent’s entire body immediately goes tense. He stands up, so fast he nearly knocks the chair over, and stares openly at the man at the door.
“Now if I didn’t know any better,” says Ted Lasso, “I’d say that was Trent Crimm.”
“Coach Lasso?” Trent asks out loud, the words sounding as sour as they taste in his mouth. “What the hell are you doing here?”

Summary
“Well I was wondering-” Trent begins - only that, of course, is when the sky all but cracks open, and rain starts absolutely pouring down.
Ted’s soaked in moments, water dripping down the back of his neck, and he shivers even while he’s still processing the shock.
“Shit,” Trent says out loud, ducking his head and glaring up at the clouds. “Can I give you a lift?” he calls out over the sounds of the rain hitting the pavement.
---
Ted and Trent get caught in the rain, and Ted finally takes him up on his offer of a ride home. Maybe this will finally give them a chance to talk - or maybe they could also stand to do a little less talking, too.

Summary
The ring box is innocent enough, where it sits in Ted’s hand. The velvet on the outside is nice, the lining is a deep shade of blue he knows Bill will like, and the ring turned out beautifully - all blue and black and green, opal embedded in a dark ring that looks like shattered glass when it hits the light. It’ll look good with everything Bill wears, and bring out all the nice shades in his eyes. The engraving, too, turned out nicely - everything’s spelled right and the letters are clean. Ted knows because he’s checked it at least a hundred times.
