Summary
Jason feels hands on his palm, soft and warm. Gripping tight, squeezing. Then hands shifting to his legs, bigger ones by his ankle as if holding him down.
“Just hold on, okay?” Jason tries to look at the kid, tries being the keyword. He needs to tell him it’s okay, he’s so brave. That he is doing so good. He needs to tell him he’s sorry and it won’t be his fault. He is so sorry for this and it would never be his fault. Out of focus, he hears the orbs move around and suddenly felt a cold, precise pressure against his side. At first he just hissed and squirmed and hands, both on his palms and his legs, tightened their hold. Then a whirring sound. And then, white-hot burning pain.

She could’ve gone to someone else, in theory, but she didn’t love any of her options. Her parents aren’t particularly relationship goals. Connor was a no for obvious reasons.
