so i bookmarked his late since i made a new acc but this was the second book i read after starting reading fanfics in general and im pretty sure for the last few chapters my mouth was just stuck. wide. open. it's so incredibly well written, it had the perfect amount of suspicion in the beginning that made it feel kinda weird but normalish, and as you ease into the story more you get those red flags, and then (SPOILER, LIKE A LOT OF SPOILERS) when you find out nick was dead that whole time? and then george kills himself? and then clay goes LIVE???? the entire story was how i discovered my love of this genre and i literally love everything this author has written.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. usually all my bookmarks have sad endings cause those are the ones that rip your heart out. but this one gave me hope that maybe things can be worked out. this fic is one of the best makeup works i have ever read. no makeup sex (not that makeup sex is bad tho...), none of that fast paced moving-to-fast kind of feeling. through the story you can tell dream's been thinking about this for a while and it just makes everything more painful. also, the way the story is mostly told through a letter is amazing. being able to see dream work out how he was feeling on paper. agh. im dead.

this author man... i can't handle it. the fucking plot twist (i would call it that) made me cry because i knew there would never be a happy ending with dream. but there was still a happy ending. i think this is when i realized angst is probably my favorite genre. a really good angst novel will rip your heart out, chop it up into pieces, and then, sometimes if you're lucky, offer you a piece of tape.
