Summary
[Time passes oddly. Between one second and the next, Sokka has the Fire Lord pinned to the wall with his hands around the bastard’s throat. Golden eyes (one gold eye, his mind whispers) widen in shock.
“Sokka?” he chokes out. And then he smiles.
What the fuck?
“Sokka, I—”
Sokka slams his head against the wall, once, twice, and the smile wipes off his face. Good.
“What,” Sokka bites out, “have you done to my sister?”]
Or:
An injury leaves Sokka with amnesia. His last memory is of the failed invasion, of leaving his father behind in enemy territory on the Day of Black Sun. Of hopelessness. Rage.
But then he wakes up, and the war is over. Suddenly, he must come to terms with the fact that years have passed, and that he's somehow the Southern Water Tribe Ambassador to the Fire Nation. He is also supposedly friends with banished-Prince-turned-Fire-Lord Zuko, of all people. Close friends.

“This’ll be my first party,” Mizi had said adorably, still as a statue while Sua took the time to braid a lock of her hair. The two girls sat in front of Till, the desks in the classroom paired off so that each student had a seating partner. Till had long since tuned out Ivan’s snoring from next to him. “Normally I wouldn’t feel comfortable, but since it’ll be at Hyuna’s house, I doubt anything will get too ‘lit’,” Mizi said with air quotes. God, even her cringiness was cute. “Plus, Sua agreed to come with me!”
Sua seemed to grimace a little at the reminder. No doubt she’d been pulled in by Mizi’s sunshine attitude and said yes before realizing just what exactly she was agreeing to. Till smirked a bit. He may have a crush on Mizi, but there was no way he was going to attend a gross high school party–
A gasp. “Oh my gosh, you and Ivan have to come too!”
“We’ll be there,” Till had said, horrified. “Text me the details?”
OR:
In an effort to spend time with his crush, Till attends his first high school party. It goes about as well as you would expect.

“It’s pretty!” Till babbles. Ivan likes the way his smile looks.
After staring for a bit too long, Till turns his head to look at Ivan. Ivan swallows the weird lump in his throat, tightening his grip on Till and nodding.
“Very pretty,” he agrees, turning back to look at the meteors. Then, after a moment, “Your smile’s very pretty too.”
It isn’t anything like Ivan’s. No snaggletooth peeking out, no lopsidedness- his eyes crinkled like he was truly happy. Till is probably a very happy child.
Till blinks a few times, before lightly hitting Ivan’s arm. “You’re weird.”
A part of Ivan wants to talk back. It was odd, the safety he felt.
“Nuh-uh. You are.”
“Nuh-uh!” Till pulls his hand out of Ivan’s to cross his arms, and for a second, Ivan regrets having said anything. “I’m not weird!”
Ivan leans in closer, wanting to reach for Till’s hand again. “It’s okay. We can be weird together.”

Summary
In this world, as in the other, it was love at first sight. Till looked at Mizi and blushed so deeply that Ivan thought he might catch fire, and Sua and Mizi looked at each other like they finally knew the meaning of the universe at eleven.
And Ivan, well, he was unlucky in this one too, because at least for now, his love would remain only his to bear. He would carry it for two, for years to come, and it would bring pain as much as it brought happiness. But later, he will find himself looking back and realize that he didn’t mind one bit, because the choice to love was never a waste, no matter the outcome.
Or, if they had more time and lived in a far gentler world.

Aya sleepily opens her eyes at the feeling of something soft against her fingers and her heart hiccups in her chest at the sight she’s greeted with. Mitsuki pulls Aya’s hand closer and presses gentle kisses to her fingertips.
All Aya wants is to be as close to Mitsuki as she can. If she could, Aya would burrow under Mitsuki’s skin and fall asleep in the warmth of her, cradled below her heart. Instead, she rests her ankles against Mitsuki’s so there’s not a single part of them not touching. Aya hears Mitsuki hiss when Aya’s cold feet brush against Mitsuki’s bare ankles; instead of pulling away, though, Mitsuki only pulls her arm tighter around her. Aya wonders if Mitsuki can feel her heartbeat in her fingertips.
