By his side is Jisung, who leans into him with laughter in his throat and mouth shaped into a hearty smile. They have been friends for a decade, are much more than that—at least they should be. Not many friends kiss when they are bored and look at each other like they do—

(or, Five Times Han Jisung Came Out, And One Time He Did So Happily)
Jisung’s attempt at a laugh is weak, watery, and miserable. “I don’t like girls, hyung,” he says.
“That’s okay,” Chan says. “Neither do I. Neither do a couple of other folks whose names I can’t just give out.”
Jisung burrows into his shoulder. He whispers the next words into Chan’s throat. “But I don’t...I don’t like boys, either.”
And, oh. Chan didn’t see this coming. He bets there’s a word for it, for this orientation, this identity, but it’s not one he knows. Not in Korean, for certain, and probably not in English, either. But that doesn’t matter, because right now, Jisung doesn’t need a specific word. He just needs Chan, needs acceptance, needs to know it’s all going to be okay.

“How am I supposed to make a move on someone who's taken?” Jisu groans, falling onto her back in the grass. “And what if she's not even interested like that? What if she just wants me ‘cause I'm a sexy hunk of meat? Like, I'm trying to wife her, not be some experiment in sexuality, y'know?”
“I know,” Chaebin says sympathetically, like Jisu is something to be pitied, squeezing her knee. “But just slow down a bit, take it one day at a time. Get to know her a bit more and—”
“You don't understand.” Jisu sits up, grabbing her friend by the shoulders. “I don't want to take it slow, I want a ring on her finger by next week,” she half-jokes, shaking her friend.
(in which Minhee is a newcomer to the skatepark Jisu frequents, taken but insanely beautiful with a plethora of pink cardigans and an endless supply of heart-shaped lollipops, and Jisu is... well, a useless lesbian.)
