“Now, the way I see it, you’ve got two choices.” Lex's voice dips into something smoother, more intimate. “You can deny this, pretend none of it happened, and slink back to your Fortress to ride this out alone. Hope no other Alpha catches the scent and decides to stake a claim. And if they do? Well…” He lets the implication hang.
“Or,” he says, stepping back into Superman’s line of sight, “you can stay here with me.”
Lex smiles, satisfied and sharp.
“No strings. No questions. No one ever has to know. And trust me, I don’t want anyone else finding out about this any more than you do. A secret like this?” He leans in slightly, whispering conspiratorially. “It’s far too valuable to share.”
Lex develops a compound that triggers Superman’s heat, but the side effects don’t end there. As Clark spirals, Lex begins to change too, in ways he never planned for. What started as control begins to shift… and neither of them is ready for what comes next.

It's hard to keep a straight face at that.
Clark's lips curve into a fond smile as he chuckles and shakes his head, leaning back against his seat, a hand rubbing across the nape of his neck.
"Yeah. Maybe I have. The coffee's great here. And the company is really nice." Clark offers a smile as he meets Bruce's eyes, holding his gaze for a beat too long before returning it to his pie.
He doesn't miss the way Bruce's heart rate stutters at his comment.

Or, Clark Kent can't do one night stands, and Bruce is just his usual human disaster.(This story officially ends at Chapter 5.
