“You looked about two seconds from icing the next person who talked to you.”
Shouto hummed, neither agreeing or disagreeing.
He chanced a glance back at Bakugou, only to find him already looking at him, red eyes half lidded. Shouto flushed under his gaze.
“They called me a goose. I’m not a goose.”
Shouto and Katsuki ditch the class field trip together.

"i promise, kid." aizawa pretended not to notice hitoshi pinching himself on the arm. "you'll also likely have to talk to the police. not right away, and you won't be alone, but what your foster parents are doing is not legal, and they will be facing the consequences of child abuse and neglect."
hitoshi stared at him for a while, before signing, family name S-H-I-N-S-O-U.

aizawa's office was familiar by now, but he still tensed as the door closed behind him. his teacher sat across the desk from him and tried to smile. it was awkward and clumsy, but shouto found comfort in it all the same.
"part of my job as your teacher is to look after your well being," aizawa started. "and this includes your mental health. over the past few months...i've noticed some things..."
he trailed off and sighed, deciding to try a different approach.
"have you heard of autism spectrum disorder?"

"shouta?" hizashi murmured, stepping out of the shadows. "what's going on?"
they all turned to look at him, and todoroki drew a sharp inhale.
"todoroki needs a place to stay." shouta explained flippantly. he kept his tone light, conversational as to not alarm todoroki, who looked quite distraught already.
hizashi smiled as softly as he could. "ah. then what are you listeners standing around for? it's past midnight, and todoroki needs his sleep. he can take the guest bedroom."
"i'll go make the bed." shinsou offered quietly.
"no–" todoroki choked out. "i shouldn't have– i should just go–"
"you're staying here, problem child." aizawa insisted.
todoroki floundered for a moment, staring awkwardly into empty space. hizashi took pity on him and sighed. "i'll go make us some tea."

shinsou paused in the doorframe, meeting aizawa's gaze with a confused frown.
"this is your fault. you started this." aizawa accused. shinsou turned to hizashi.
"what's dad sulking for?"
hizashi shook his head with a fond grin.
"he's mad the kids are calling him dad," he explained. he hummed and regarded aizawa's slumped form. "although i'm not sure how you're involved in this."
"he started this. he called me dad in front of my entire class and now they think it's okay."
