Player sighed, picking up the basketball that sat by the foot of his desk, shooting it into the hoop. He made it, but the ball rolled across the room and stopped by the door, so Player picked up the fidget spinner by one of his monitors and spun it, tapping his fingers together.
One, two, three, four.
He sat the spinner down, stretching his arms over his head. A feeling of restlessness settled over Player, and he got up and paced the room.

Will gathers up all his courage into his sore arms, cradling bravery against his chest, holding it over his broken-and-then-healed ribcage. “Ever since I got back from the Upside Down, I’ve been in pain.”
“What do you mean?” Mike asks.
“It’s like I came back wrong. My body hurts pretty much all the time. It wasn’t that bad when it started, but it just kept getting worse and worse and now I’m just—” Will swallows the lump in his throat. “I’m crippled, basically. I’m sorry.”
Mike’s mouth opens and closes a couple times. “Hold on, did you say since the Upside Down? Three years ago?”
Will nods.
“And when you say ‘all the time’, you mean all the time?”
“The severity changes a lot, but yes.”
Mike looks… very concerned. “Even right now?”
It’s not funny, but he laughs. “Especially right now.”

Will grinned, taking Dustin’s hand and shaking it. “You and me, Henderson.”
A rewrite of S3:
The night Dustin gets back from Camp Knowhere, he brings the Party up to the highest point in Hawkins to set up Cerebro. He thought that his friends would be excited to have him back-- even if it wasn't the most entertaining to sit on a hill and talk into a radio with no response, he thought they would at least wait for him before going home. He thought it was going to be the best summer ever.
Instead, he finds himself and the one friend that didn't leave him, Will Byers, intercepting a weird Russian transmission.
And, well... if he couldn't have the best summer ever, at least he and Will would have an eventful one.
