They had thought they had broken Vassa's spell and put a stop to Koschei's scheme, but they had been fooled. Koschei claimed his blood, Elain, exchanged for Vassa, so he can use the magic of the Blood Moon, during the next Winter Solstice, a few months away, to free himself from his prison. The HIgh Fae's forces on the Continent are also stirring and war is imminent.
Lucien is desperate to get his mate back, even if for that he will have to fight all of Prythian, and all the Continent, and an ancient god of death, to save Elain.

This. Is just...the entire acotar series but like 2.0. It’s an entire rewrite. And it’s SO GOOD. Elucien, nessian, feysand development, all just so so good!! Every character is spot on and the plot is THICC in this one. Definitely recommend for impatient acotar fans who can’t wait for the canon books to come out and dictate what happens to our lovely characters (aka me)

Summary
Lucien returns to Velaris after the war with Hybern, full of anxiety about being so near to Elain. He tries to find a place among Rhysand’s Inner Circle and find the balance between getting to know his mate without being overbearing.
For months, Elain has been having a recurring dream of autumn forests. When Lucien returns to Velaris, not only does the dream’s frequency intensify, but she finds herself waking up in Lucien’s room every morning before dawn.
Despite Nesta’s looming presence and Lucien’s lingering guilt over Jesminda, the two grow closer and Elain allows herself to truly imagine what being Lucien’s mate could be like. Lucien begins to wonder if the Night Court could be the home he's spent so long searching for.
But their fragile, new bond will be tested when Lucien is called away, back to the continent and its cursed queen.
