Sent off to face the new world alone and bearing the knowledge of what he did, Bucky tries to find himself a life with his new identity… until 2012 rolls around and aliens start flying out of the sky.
Or, Bucky is rescued decades earlier from Hydras clutches by a secretly operated team of people inside S.H.I.E.L.D. after discovering it’s been compromised.

I don’t know what prompted me to go up to them that day, whether it was because of the mid-day summer heat beating down my neck, making everything more awful, or the fact that they were roughing up the kid I’d been secretly watching all summer—whatever it was, I didn’t care. I’m just glad that that day I went up to him, that I finally introduced myself.

Dean looks at him, stopping. “Uh, yeah. My hands are just cold.” Cas stops a few steps later.
Without saying a word, Cas grabs Dean’s hands. “Better?” he asks.
Dean blanks for a second and looks down at their conjoined hands, blinking.
He looks back up. “My lips are freezing,” he says blankly.
