Summary
Tommy had thought his life was completely normal. He lived with his parents, he had friends, he went to school- it was fine! Until one day he decided to open his big mouth and complain about something small to his teacher, resulting in the situation he was in now.
In a car with a "social worker" being relocated to the "Crafts".
Tommy doesn't know what's going on. He doesn't understand why his parents were bad, why he was being taken away, why his whole life was being turned upside down, and most of all he didn't know why he felt so powerless to it all.
Tommy just wanted to go home. But now, he doesn't even know where his home is.

A bird chirps. The stars are there too, if he looks close enough, painting the sky somewhere behind the smog.
Wilbur can relate. He too feels like a bright star, blackened and hidden as the universe pollutes him.
He inhales-
"Wilby?"
He coughs, choking aggressively on the cigarette. His chest rattles. Horrible, closed off sounds escape violently as his body convulses.
"Wilbur?" Tommy repeats again, rubbing his eyes. He shuts the front door behind him, stepping onto the wood floors of the porch with too-long pajama pants trialing behind him. "What 're you doin'?"

"Shush," Wilbur says, pulling Tommy into a hug. "It's okay to admit you're hurt, Tommy."
The energy seeps away from Tommy and he melts into his brother’s gentle hold. "I'm not a little baby,” He mumbles into Wilbur’s chest.
"No, you're not," Wilbur agrees. "But it's okay to be a needy kid every once in a while. You're only 14," The brunette reminds, starting to massage the back of Tommy’s head.
