Summary
After being captured by All for One and given to the Doctor, there is very little that Izuku can trust anymore. Not his body, not his loved ones, and certainly not his mind. There isn't a single aspect of himself that hasn't been violated and altered. He does his best not to let them break him, but there are some things that even he can't smile through. Eventually, he doesn't have the awareness to care anymore.
When he is finally rescued, he's barely a shell of his former self. There's no laughter, no mumbling, no conviction, only blank stares and feeble responses. Despite what they are told, his classmates are determined to bring him back.
“Hello all,” Mrs. Midoriya managed a small wave. “It’s nice to see you here, but I thought Izuku couldn’t have visitors other than family come through this door.”
“He can’t.” Todoroki confirmed with a nod from the others. “That’s why we entered through a window instead.”

Izuku couldn't help letting his eyes wander from Mr. Aizawa to the back of Kacchan’s head as he felt Kacchan’s foot move backwards to lock ankles with his. He had no idea how Kacchan was able to act casual, like this wasn't different from any other class, when Izuku’s face felt like it was on fire.
His blush, his ear to ear grin, Izuku knew he must be being too obvious, but he couldn’t help it because...He was touching Kacchan! And he couldn't think of anything beyond that for the rest of class. He wasn't used to the casual touches that were now allowed. Every touch––every show of affection, felt like something amazing that needed to be celebrated. Izuku doubted he’d ever take any of it for granted.
At least, he hoped he didn't.

“Aga—Again,” Izuku pleaded. “Please, again.”
“Izuku, Izuku, Izuku.” It was too much, not enough, and just right all at once. His heart swelled so desperately, Izuku could almost taste it on his lips. The way his name dripped off Katsuki’s tongue like honey brought with it the salty, burning sensation of tears rolling down his cheeks once more.
“Kacchan,” Izuku cried out.
“Katsuki,” Katsuki breathed. There was a crack in his tone that dipped down and pleaded for Izuku to utter his words. A begging, pulling, that Izuku couldn’t deny. His lip wobbled, only to have Katsuki’s thumb brush along the tender flesh, comforting Izuku in every way he could.
“K-Katsuki,” Izuku mumbled. “Katsuki, Katsuki, Katsuki.”
The fragile frame of glass holding Katsuki’s composure together so tightly shattered into a million pieces. Izuku watched Katsuki’s eyes well up, glistening under the soft lights before his tears began plummeting to the earth below.

Katsuki knows exactly when he will meet his soulmate, thanks to the timer on his forearm. The problem is he has no idea where they are and the streets seem to be empty of people, until he stumbles across a small bookstore tucked away down an alley that seems to still be open.
