Tohya took his coffee black.
Battler didn't like coffee, and if he drank it, he added enough sugar to poison any sweet tooth. No milk, too much sugar, and a splash of some ridiculous creamer flavor. Some of Ange's earliest memories were of Battler begging for a taste of Dad's coffee, only to spit the bitterness down the sink and rub his tongue with a napkin.

A short, mean, and disbelieving laugh bounces around the kitchen. “You’re joking.” Jason’s laughter turns into an outright cackle, and he has to put his coffee mug down on the counter to avoid spilling it.
“Back off.” Despite wanting to, Tim can’t hide the fact that his voice shakes, but suddenly his grip doesn’t. “Jason, I swear—”
“You gonna point that thing at me? You don’t even know what to do with it.”
The older boy is too close. Far too close. Tim flinches back, raises the gun, and without thinking about it presses it under Jason’s jaw.
All of a sudden, neither of them can breathe.
Jason’s eyes harden, glancing at the finger hovering over the trigger.
After a moment, Jason speaks up, almost softly— with how close they are, his voice doesn’t need to carry far. His voice goes flat. “This is hilarious.” The tone says otherwise.

OR: Tim has PTSD after the Titans Tower attack, and secretly keeps a gun — just in case. With Jason back in Gotham, “just in case” starts to feel more and more and more inescapable.Series

Summary
It's the home stretch: all Danny has to do is get through one more year at Casper High before he's home free. Ghost attacks have petered off, the GIW were defunded, and Danny's grades have improved. Really, there's nothing that should make this year too hard. There shouldn't be, at least. The weird hunger that he's been feeling since his third deathday doesn't count; it's probably just ghost puberty. He's been through it once—he can do it again, no sweat. Right?
