"You're gonna get out of there someday," Gordie told him.
Chris snorted. "I wish."
"You will. I know you will."
Chris rolled his eyes. "Okay, God."
Gordie sighed. "If I was God, I'd write your life story real nice."
Chris turned his head to face him. "Would it have a happy ending?"
He nodded. "The happiest."

Summary
Neo watches, mesmerised, as she comes alive in a way he's never seen before. He watches her let go, surrender, yet remain in control, each movement somehow deliberate and carefree, expressive and mindless, graceful and passionate. Free. He sees the reclamation in her. A coming home, not just to Zion, but to her body. Herself.
~
Trinity brings Neo to his first celebration at the Zion Temple. Many years later, he invites her to dance with him again.

Summary
"I meant what I said earlier, about you being beautiful," Fiyero said, his voice low, soothing, and resonant. "You are. You're the most beautiful woman I've ever known."
Elphaba felt the small flicker of doubt and disbelief in her mind, but not fast enough to stop it from showing on her face. She watched as Fiyero's face fell, something akin to hurt or heartache, but not pity, reflecting back at her. "I know you think I've lost my mind. I can see it in your eyes. Perhaps I have. They say love can do that to people. But that doesn't make it any less true, whether you believe it or not."

Turning her head, she catches sight of her own reflection in the black voids of their obscured eyes, and her breathing stops.
No.
Suddenly, she feels exposed and vulnerable, despite her jacket and jeans. The realisation hits her like an unwanted blinding spotlight, filling her with an instant, sickening dread.
They're watching her.
