And good at Quidditch. But sometimes I feel like I just picked her at random, too, because of those things. And I get really nervous around her but only because I want her to like me, I’m not sure I ever liked her, or if I just wanted to. And when I kissed her I felt. Nothing, really. Except, um. wet.” There’s a pause, a delectable frown Sirius wants desperately to bite. Wet, I'll show you wet, I'll make you so fucking wet, Harry. “It was sort of gross.”
“Are you worried you’re like me?” Sirius asks gently, knowing full well he is crossing a line. He would never bring up harry in relation to his sexuality if he wasn’t so drunk, but from the sick peace of his firewhiskey sea he simply bobs with the tide, watching his black-dog body sail over the boundary with a single, graceful leap, mired only in a muted sort of apathy. “There’s nothing wrong with it, you know.”

For that burden fell to Obi-Wan, to what he represented in Anakin's mind. Within Ahsoka he found kinship, a mirror of which he could project the best version of himself onto, revel in the greatness reflected back. He watched the same shade of darkness grow ever slowly, though never did it steal from her the sun completely as it had of him.
Ahsoka is his daughter in all but name, and as she walks into the fire, away from the Order, she is the first of the Skywalker children to be born.

Summary
Delve into an unofficial 8th book as Harry and Hermione return for their seventh year. Harry struggles with the aftermath of the Battle of Hogwarts, death of loved ones, and maintaining relationships. Failing classes and avoiding friends, he questions his decision to be an Auror and his future place in the Wizarding world. A sullen Draco rallies and returns to Hogwarts, putting on a brave face for the redemption of his family. Ron is fumbling at the ministry while Hermione practically teaches Transfiguration in light of a suitable teacher. But Harry’s most challenging task is not playing frenemies with Malfoy like it’s to win the House Cup, it’s grasping for confusing closure when a door is just opening.
This ‘8th year’ Hogwarts book takes place directly after Deathly Hallows and hits all the normal points of school: feasts, school life, Hagrid, Hogsmeade, Weasley chaos, Christmas, Rita Skeeter scandals, exams, the House Cup, and culminates in resolving an end of year mystery. Mostly cannon compliant minus the obvious. Relationship simmers, twists, and erupts. Book becomes quite explicit. Snape remains Snapishly Snape.
