Summary
Kurahara Kakeru has been having a hard time in university. So he decides to check out the coffee shop that some friends from his dorm recommended to him. When he gets there, he finds out that not only is it not a coffee shop, but the cashier who works there is a very beautiful man who goes by the name of Kiyose Haiji. Kakeru, who can't help his emotions be painted intricately across his face, soon surrenders to the successful attempts of flirtation from the bagel shop's cashier.

Summary
The question stumps Haiji, because he knows he’s been acting different, in a sense, but he thought that it was better. He stopped pushing people, stopped forcing people to do his bidding with a charming smile. He made a conscious effort to be less demanding, to ask less, to be more supportive.
He thought that’s what Kakeru wanted. He seemed fulfilled, and Haiji didn’t want to ruin that happiness by asking for more. But this is the first time he’s hearing that Kakeru might be unhappy, too.
“What do you mean?” Haiji asks, finally.
Kakeru sighs. “You aren’t the person I fell in love with, Haiji.”
Haiji tries (and fails) to pick up the pieces of himself after the Hakone Ekiden.
