This tiny gas station is empty of cars and people this time of night; moths flutter happily around the floodlights, unbothered. Jongwoo sighs to himself, grumbling under his breath about this shitty rental, and gets out of the car. The door slams with a thud– the entire car quivers. Residual awkwardness.
Jay looks over at Seongmin with an easy smile, his hand reaching across the middle seat to give Seongmin’s knee a comforting squeeze.

Summary
Jongwoo comes up behind him like a shadow, his left hand landing on Seongmin’s hip, instead of responding. His palm sits there comfortably, fingers creasing Seongmin’s shirt. Seongmin doesn’t move but his knees feel weak. The water is about to roll over to a boil.
This is a game they like to play. They take turns saying things, touching each other, pushing the other to the edge; neither of them ever fall off. Sometimes they have an audience, sometimes not.

The early days were strange. Some of those days, Taerae wakes up half-expecting to be in Planet Camp still, the bathroom tap running in the background and the constant hum of commotion outside.
Other days, he half-expects to wake up in the little apartment Wakeone squeezed all of them in, Junghyun sprawled out sleeping in the bunk below him. It seems to only exist in a faraway memory now.

Matthew knows Jiwoong likes him more than the others.
There’s always something soft in Jiwoong’s eyes when he’s looking at Matthew, a different soft from seeing the other kids or the fans on stage. Jiwoong’s hands stay a little longer than necessary when they’re on Matthew and when he leans in to whisper something, Matthew can almost feel Jiwoong’s lips ghost against the shell of his ear from the way he lingers— from the way Jiwoong’s want is so intense that it’s almost tangible. Material, present and hovering over them whenever they’re together.

“Do you want to go to the hospital?” Hanbin lifts his hand from Taerae’s forehead but he keeps it close, the back of his hand pressed against Taerae’s cheek. His knuckles brush over Taerae’s cheekbones, the sharp edges of their bones pushing against each other.
Taerae shakes his head. He doesn’t want to go to the hospital, he doesn’t even want to leave this room. He can’t anyway, not when he’s all tucked in and his limbs feel weak, jelly-like, and Hanbin has a hand on his cheek. Hanbin’s skin on his skin.
