Summary
Fourteen people narrowly escape the meteoric destruction of their home servers. They find themselves trapped in an entirely new game with different rules, unpredictable dangers, and — most terrifying of all — the fact that each player has only two lives to spare before they’re dead for good.
…Well, obviously you know better than that. But that little surprise will come later.(or, 3rd Life as a SBURB session! a rewrite of my 2021 fic “Three Lives To Return”)

Summary
Blade-Three, also known as Three, is the living weapon of the Watchers. Conditioned to follow orders, it is meant to use its considerable strength, combat abilities, and total loyalty to obliterate the enemies of the Watchers. Of course, the "following orders" part comes first, which is how, when Listener agent Martyn InTheLittleWood comes along with the right command words, he manages to steal it.
Now, instead of missions that make any sense, Three must navigate as Martyn and his roommate Jimmy attempt to teach it how to be human, or at least enough of a person to be itself. It would help if either Martyn or Jimmy knew how to be human either, and if they weren't falling apart at the seams after the death of an old friend.
(And of course, there's the matter of Three's original identity, a question no one thinks to ask...)
Or: in which Evo had a bad end, and five years later, the pieces that were left behind start to accidentally fall back together.

Summary
It’s 1944, and nuclear physicist Dr. Alex Quackity has just arrived in Santa Fe, New Mexico to continue the decade of work he’s already put in to the still-secret, highly radioactive element 94. The tall, British would-be author he meets at a bar—worldly, clever, and fundamentally allergic to talking about what the hell he’s doing in New Mexico—shouldn’t be a distraction. Shouldn’t even register. Alex keeps finding himself drawn to the bar and to Wilbur, though, as the year and the war rage on and the final goal of the classified Project Y looms like a thundercloud on the horizon.

Summary
He was wearing a boar-face mask with bloody tusks. One of the lenses over the eyes had shattered, the light from a streetlight catching on the spiderweb in the glass. The swordsman tilted his head at the hawk, clearing his throat. “Yeah?” he said.
It tucked its talons behind its back. “Good evening,” it said obediently. Speaking was always a risk, no one wanted a noisy hawk, but it could take an obvious hint.
The swordsman pointed the sword in its direction. “You work for The Brotherhood.” His voice was raspy.
He seemed to want an answer. The rain dripped out of the hawk’s hair. “Not anymore.”
“Oh.” The swordsman eyed it. The empty spots for weapons and gear at its belt, the scorch marks and slashes in its clothing, its meek stance. He cleared his throat again. “You ran?”
The hawk nodded.
“Heh.” The swordsman lowered the point of the sword. “Do y’wanna stick together?”

Summary
A relatively routine train ride to London results in Etho meeting an unusual but charming American man who quickly adds an unexpected spin to his life. Invited to an exlusive gentlemans club known simply as The Hermit Club, Etho meets many new people and discovers that a part of himself he had always repressed could, in fact, be worth chasing. Albeit, around one very particular person.

Summary
Zed gasped and heaved and tried to clear his airways, all to no avail, his struggling becoming weaker and weaker as black spots danced in his vision, until he was overwhelmed and the world faded out.
Then, all of a sudden, he was awake again. He heaved air into his lungs, a sense of relief washing over him as he realised he was alive, he was okay, he had another chance. He had another chance to save Tango, to save himself, to save the Hermits.
His communicator pinged. He was right back at the start. He could do this.
———
Or, Zed died when the moon hit. So did everyone else. Thankfully, Zed is Blorbo from the End Poem Entities’ Universe and also a stubborn fool who would rather stay another round in a 6-months-per-loop time loop than let any of his friends die.
