In 1993 and over a thousand miles away from Hawkins, Chrissy and Eddie rediscover each other and their crushes reignite. This time instead of pining for each other they act on their feelings, but an unplanned pregnancy threatens to complicate things in this Obvious Child AU.

Summary
Let’s pretend that S4 events ended with Vecna vanquished and the Upside Down closed off forever. Eddie’s alive and so is Chrissy. She’s also blissfully unaware that anything supernatural happened in March 1986 because a different cheerleader was the first victim. While we’re at it, we’re also going to pretend that the David Bowie classic movie Labyrinth was released a bit earlier than June 27, 1986 and that the Hawkins High Class of 1986 senior prom has a masquerade ball theme. Eddie’s going because The Party convinced him that he can hide behind a Jareth wig and mask, and unbeknownst to them all, Chrissy’s going dressed as Sarah. It’s almost like it was meant to be.
Kinda one-shotty in the sense that it all takes place in one night and won't become a novel like many of my other stories, but it's broken down into several short chapters.

What follows includes the tabloids writing up breathless stories of a whirlwind love affair, but behind the scenes, things are a bit more calculated.
Well, until they aren’t.

“You do seem–” Chrissy blinked a few times. “Different.”
“No, I don’t,” Eddie says through a laugh. “Hair’s a little shorter, I guess.” He performatively twirls a strand of one of his curls which has the intended effect of making her giggle. “And I stashed the battle vest just in case…well, you know. Other than that–”
“No, you do look different.” She extends her arm, spreads her fingers so they’re almost touching his cheek. “I didn’t know you had freckles.”
Eddie feels heat start to crawl up his neck. “Uh, yeah, Tina’s concerts are outdoors, so I’ve been out in the sun, a lot–happens, you know?”
“They’re cute,” Chrissy says, and her eyes widen, like she had surprised herself by saying that. Meanwhile, Eddie’s heart jumps in his chest.

Vecna/Henry/One's victims come back to life after his defeat, but that doesn't stop Hawkins from painting a target on Eddie's back anyway. He flees Hawkins, leaving behind a town that hates him, but also his family and his friends.
A year later, an accident forces him to return to Hawkins, though his memories of home are far different than what he actually returns to.
