I am very tired. I am tired of forcing my children into roles they do not want. I am tired of fighting for a power I never cared for. And I am exhausted, Rhaenyra, of hating you.”

She had not thought about her youth with Alicent in a long time. The memories felt off limits; forbidden, in case she taint them with her broken heart; in case she went to remember the Alicent she loved and all she could picture was the crazed Alicent who had cut her with a knife instead.
