Summary
College AU: Whizzer and Marvin are seniors in college and have plans to travel and live together after college. But after Marvin goes home after graduation, he never contacts Whizzer again and Whizzer is left lost and confused. Now, ten years later, Whizzer runs into Marvin and his fiancée Trina and has to reconcile the Marvin he used to know with the new Marvin he's presented with. Trina, on the other hand, suspects Marvin and Whizzer used to be more than friends and sets out to make things right.
(Whizzer, Marvin, and Trina each narrate parts of the story, so you see all three perspectives on what's happening.)

Whizzer shuffled out to the stranger's kitchen. The guy he’d gone home with hadn’t kicked him out last night because he’d fallen asleep, and he had a comfortable bed, so Whizzer hadn’t left. He was searching through the cabinets for a glass to get water when he was startled by a voice behind him.
“Who are you?”
He turned. A woman was standing in the doorway, disheveled, clothes wrinkled, bags beneath her eyes. Whizzer gestured back toward the bedroom. “Nobody, really. That guy’s one night stand who’s definitely overstaying his welcome. Who are you? A roommate or something?”
“His wife.”
Whizzer takes in his one night stand after his wife kicks him out.

“I don’t- I’m not gay or anything,” says Kevin. And that makes Connor mad- he can explicitly remember the other saying the words “gay thoughts” the night before. He stabs his shovel in the dirt next to him. It makes a cracking noise when it slams into the barren and arid earth.
Connor’s livid. Angry. Honestly, openly furious, and he doesn’t care how much he’s—probably—overreacting as he bites, “Bullshit.” He likes swearing, he decides. “Bullshit, you kissed me. You made out with me, and now-”
Kevin looks like he’s teetering on the edge of something, a vase leaning on the side of a table, wobbly, about to break, so Connor curbs his tone. Just to make him happy. He doesn’t want him to cry, as enraged as he is. “Look, just because it’s so hard for you doesn’t mean you get to take it out on me.”
It's harsh, and Connor knows it. He knows it because Kevin gets up, tosses his gardening gloves on the ground limply, and walks oh-so-calmly off to- Connor doesn’t look at him long enough to see.
The shower he takes that night is long and cold.
