Chris is back with Eddie, but they are still in Texas. Eddie can't stop thinking about Buck and tries to find any reason he can to call or text him. He misses Buck and doesn't know why (yet). Buck is being sort of distant, which is driving Eddie crazy until Eddie decides to take matters in his own hands and start flirting with Buck over text. It doesn't work out exactly like he had hoped because Buck still thinks he's straight. Which....causes some problems. At least until Eddie shows up back in L.A and they fuck about it.

“He went in anyway. The last few mothers with their babies made it out but then Bobby was just a few seconds later, it was only a few seconds but he started coughing real bad. He collapsed and Hen and Chim were on him immediately. His oxygen levels were low, he’d inhaled too much smoke. We were on our way to West General but it was too late.”

“Bobby’s dead.”

Eddie is in nightmare. Bobby is dead and to make matters worse when he gets back to LA Buck is dating Tommy again.
When he wakes up and realises it wasn’t real he realises some stuff about himself and his relationship with Buck.

Jesus Christ. Somewhere in his mind, Buck wonders if this is all some kind of dream he's gotten stuck in. An involuntary giggle escapes Buck's lips. The whole situation is just so bizarre and frankly, he's too buzzed to analyse anything any further.
All he knows is that Eddie sounds hot like this.
Or: Buck hooks up with Tommy and, in his drunkenness, confesses this to Eddie.
Who reacts as normal as you'd expect him to.

And Eddie hadn’t been stalking Buck, okay? Let’s get that out of the way up front. Buck knew that Eddie had a Nest Cam, and it had been his idea not to change the password, to let Eddie keep access to the account despite living 800 miles away. It had been practical, he’d said. And besides, it was still technically Eddie’s name on the lease, it was his house. So Buck knew. He knew about the Nest Cam, so it didn’t count as stalking. Just like Buck knew about his air tag. It was right there on his keychain! Had been, ever since a few months after the Tsunami. It had been Chris’ idea, so that if he ever got separated from Buck again, they’d be able to find him. Buck knew about the air tag. Hell, they’d even changed the battery together not long before Eddie left. So Buck knew. He had his permission. So none of this counted as stalking.
OR
Eddie has a Nest Doorbell and that's how he finds out about Buck's hookup with Tommy. He assumes that means they're dating, and he deals with it *very* healthily. (By deciding to compete with Tommy for Buck's attentions with some light dom/sub play - what could go wrong?)

The silence on the other end sharpens.
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” Buck snaps.
Eddie flinches. “Nothing. I—”
“No, come on, say it. What does that mean, Eddie?” Buck pushes, voice rising.
He feels trapped, like the walls are closing in, like he’s been backed into a corner with no way out. His palms feel sweaty, chest rising and falling too fast, too shallow, like there’s not enough air in the room.
He’s angry.
He’s hurt.
He’s confused.
He’s jealous.It’s too much all at once, emotion piling on top of emotion with nowhere to go.
And it keeps coming.
And. And. And.
His body is trembling under the weight of everything he can’t say, everything he didn’t know until now.
“I’m just saying,” Eddie starts, “it’s only been a couple of weeks and now you’re fucking Tommy Kinard in my bedroom—”
“It’s not your bedroom anymore,” Buck cuts in, his voice sharp. “You made sure of that, when you left.”
