Summary
Slimes can’t die of old age. Avery can’t picture an eternity of this. The thought makes his chest feel tight, and he feels tears dripping down his cheeks as he tries to pretend he hadn’t even had it. Avery doesn’t want to be trapped here with Hastur until the end of time. Avery just hopes that the King gets tired of Avery. Then at least he’ll be free. Death... death would be more merciful than thousands of years of this.
“I cannot recall asking. You will worship me, my vessel. You will do it willingly, or I will make you.”
Avery’s tears fall as he shakily flips open the book.
“Page one. Begin from the top.”
————————————
Or; Avery is forced to live with Hastur, and he tries to find a way to adapt to it for a short while. And fails miserably. When he’s at the brink, someone saves him… for now.

Summary
“Skateebooarddd,” you drawled, tongue heavy in your mouth, “‘m scared.” Your tone was flat despite your words.
“What are you scared of?” He asked as he crawled into the bed next to you, back against the wall and legs next to your head. “I thought you took these before?”
It took you a minute to process what he said, too focused on the fact you could smell the outside bog and a hint of sweat from his pants. A gurgle rose in the back of your throat, head shaking in denial, “Mhm-nhm.”
