They’re at a rooftop bar, overlooking the hills and mountains of Soho’s skyline, and Kunimi is leaning on the railing with a cocktail in his hand. A pool sits in the middle of the roof, and the light reflects off of it and casts angelic blue onto the angles of Kunimi’s jaw, his cheekbone, a halo of dancing water. As if Kunimi will sprout wings and take flight, leaving Kageyama stranded on a peak, watching him soar away quietly and with lament.

Summary
It’s in the middle of scanning the last bottle of green tea that Itadori properly looks up. Eye contact with him is a physical, unexpected shock, a crunch of imaginary static snapping through Megumi and leaving his hands twitching at his sides.
"Hey." Itadori blinks, wide and earnest. "Do I know you from somewhere?"
The tea sloshes backwards in the bottle he’s holding. Megumi focuses on this until his vision steadies.
"No," he says. "I don’t think so."
In the aftermath, Itadori loses his memories instead of his life. Megumi grieves nonetheless.

The springtime breeze that blows through the metropolis at night is cool against the skin peeking out from between his gloves and shirtsleeves. Asphalt roads stretch before him, long and wide. Sidewalks once teeming with patrons every night appear dull without the colorful array of streetwear breathing life into them. The city is a ghost of what it once was—a paler shade of the grey it’s always been. It’s alive, surviving, but it’s hollow.
It’s the tail-end of May, right on the brink of summer, but it’s cold, cold, cold.
