Summary
All of Mondstadt was burning. Whatever wasn’t made of stone lit the night sky like the rising sun as it was consumed by flames. Citizens screamed, ran, or hid as they tried desperately to escape from the force that had conquered them from within. The Fatui coup had been as swift as it had been unexpected. As the guards changed at midnight, the Snezhnayan agents had hatched their plan. By morning, power in Mondstadt had changed hands. Its monuments lay in ruins. Its people mourned. And its once great house Ragnvindr--from which all of Mondstadt’s greatest rulers and warriors had descended in the last 500 years--had been exterminated.
In the days and weeks and months that followed, as the conquered people picked up the pieces of their lives under the rule of a new queen, rumor began to spread of a survivor. As the years passed, the citizens of Mondstadt prayed and the Tsaritsa hunted for the prince that had escaped.

This is the story of a former prince in hiding, a desperate Khaenri'ahn soldier, and a bounty that is just too good to ignore.

“Whose is that? Who has their phone off vibrate, in this day and age?” Raccoon Eyes prodded, and Metalhead fished his phone out of his pocket.
“Sorry, that’s me,” he muttered, clicking his phone into silent.
“Who is it?” Drooly said, leaning over. Tetsutetsu leaned away in turn, frowning at the nosiness.
“Man, I dunno.”
“Could be important,” Katsuki muttered, and watched Tetsutetsu’s eyes land on him and widen, like he’d only just noticed him. Fucking idiot.

That’s another thing that makes Katsuki itchy. He’s always been a violent dude, but lately when he looks at Kirishima he’s filled with both this deep anger and this absurd need to protect, as if he doesn’t believe Kirishima can handle himself in a fight. It’s ridiculous. No—it’s outright offensive, is what it is, and Katsuki wants to purge it from his system, bleed and sweat and swear it out until there’s nothing left of this angry softness. He doesn’t like the feeling at all.
He also doesn’t like waking up in the morning and checking his social media feed only to see a side of Kirishima he’s not used to seeing. Or not not-used-to, but…
((Bakugou sees a video of Kirishima at a 3-A class outing he skipped the evening before, and starts to reconsider his decision to always get a full night's sleep.))
