“Thanks, kid.” The monkey reached out for the beverage, realising his mistake too late. He grabbed the mug in his right hand but had applied too much pressure on the tips of his fingers, curling them too tightly against the porcelain, sending a waterfall of pain coursing through his fingers. He yelped and let go of the mug, dropping it and letting it shatter, spilling hot chocolate across the recently cleaned floorboards.

Summary
For a while now, Wukong’s been seeing shadows. Not your normal shadows like his own, but ones who dance throughout his house without a care. He knew it couldn’t be macaque right? He was.. Not in the world anymore. But the way the shadows taunt him at every corner told him differently.
They never let him look at them directly, always disappearing into the shadows as soon as he looked at them directly. For a while he thought he was crazy, so one night when he was just peacefully trying to watch a show on himself, he stayed staring at the tv as a shadow slowly peeked around the corner. Looking right at him.

Summary

Summary
There was fondness seeping from every line on Macaque's face. His eyes gleamed with incomprehensible love and devotion that had always scared the King on some level, but his traitorous heart fluttered hopelessly under the gaze.
He swallowed, throat bobbing with the motion, unsure of what to do other than to gently brush his own fingers across the hand on his cheek.
Macaque pressed his lips on Wukong’s temple. “I would kill for you. I would die for you,” he said, voice worshipful like a prayer.
Wukong clenched his teeth. “You will,” he said as his voice cracked.
