The evidence in favour of Qifrey liking… requests, so to speak, has been piling up. The logical conclusion is on one side of the razor's edge, but Olruggio is still—dithering.
One-off requests are one thing, but Olruggio has a theory. He may not have any personal experience beyond Qifrey himself, but his commissions over the years have come from many and varied patrons, with many and varied tastes. Olruggio may not have much experience personally, but his wealth of professional experience borders on ridiculous.
Olruggio has a theory about Qifrey, and acts on it. Things, as they tend to between the two of them, spiral rapidly.

“I…” Xia Fei’s mind scrambled for ideas, panic propelling his mouth to move, “I want him to myself.”
Vein smiled in undisguised interest.
“Alright. But on one condition,” Vein brought their bodies together, taking Xia Fei’s chin in one hand, “You’ll have to give us a show.” Vein’s voice was soft, but Xia Fei could feel the dangerous tremor that buzzed beneath, “He is leverage, you understand?”
Xia Fei did not shake, and he held Vein’s gaze as firmly as he could.
“There’s no point in dangling him in front of Lu Guang if we’re not doing something that will make him talk, is there?”
He understood the threat within the request. If Xia Fei did not take action, Vein would.
“Yes,” Xia Fei nodded, unblinking, “I understand.”
One month after the Bridon arc, Liu Xiao and Vein kidnap Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang, intending to torture them into spilling information on their interference with the current timeline. Liu Xiao gives Vein and Xia Fei only one order: they can do whatever they want to Cheng Xiaoshi, as long as it gets Lu Guang to talk.

The braid was nearly finished now, crimson fading to dark strands winding together like threads of night sky. Xià Fěi tied it off with a flourish, his touch lingering just long enough to draw a reaction—a subtle shift of Vein's posture, a flicker of tension at the nape of his neck.
“Liú Xiāo says I’m reckless,” Xià Fěi continued, tilting his head as he admired his handiwork. “He thinks I push too hard, get too close to things that could destroy me. He doesn’t get it, though. The fun’s in the danger.”
“You’re a fool.” Vein muttered as he turned around, facing Xià Fěi. It swayed gently as he shifted, a tangible reminder of Xià Fěi’s audacity.
“Mm, you’re still here,” Xià Fěi countered, his voice softening into something almost tender. He leaned back on his hands, his posture loose and casual, but his gaze was sharp, searching. “You know, Liú Xiāo’s the Earth. Grounded, steady, always pulling us back when we drift too far; but you and me?” He paused, letting words hang like smoke in the air. “We’re the sun and the moon. Always circling, always drawn to each other, even if we’re too stubborn to admit it.”

“Who said you’re supposed to trust him? Long as he pays, who cares.”
Xia Fei answers with a noise. Back of his throat, somewhere between displeased and disagreeing. Somewhere between ‘if you say so’ and ‘why would you say so’. Somewhere between ‘maybe I care’ and ‘maybe you should too’.
“I don’t know,” Xia Fei sighs out, kicking a pebble that has no business lying around where no one else does. He doesn’t know where they’re going. It doesn’t really matter. It’s too late to do anything productive, anyway, and his schedule is mostly determined by the man he’s walking next to, so any deviations from it caused by these few moments, and maybe next few hours, won’t be his to carry the blame for.
And it’s nicer this way, anyway.

Five minutes pass in a blink of an eye. The warmth of Xia Fei’s body and the soft snores become more audible. Instead of waking up, Xia Fei snuggles closer to Vein’s body, as if there is ever a gap between them. Xia Fei’s cheek is squished against the shoulder blade, and his arm wraps around Vein’s.
A dark chuckle. Vein glances at Xia Fei’s sleeping face. His cheeks puff out. His lips part. His eyelashes glow under the passing streetlight. It’s adorable, almost. Like a mouse unknowingly sleeping on a cat’s fur, near where the mouth is, fangs open.
“How brave,” Vein comments.
Xia Fei sleeps on Vein's shoulder on their way home.

When Vein first laid eyes on Xia Fei, his traitorous heart stuttered in his chest. Simply out of minor infatuation with a pretty face, of course, but it was surprising enough to startle him. Xia Fei came to him as this awkward, reticent college student in need of a job and, despite the nervous energy vibrating his frame, seemed determined enough to be there.
“I heard you were hiring models here. So.” He keeps his eyes focused on something behind Vein’s head as he toys with the sleeve of jacket. “So here I am.”
Vein smiles, unable to contain his interest. “Here you are.”

I (19M) had a falling out with my crush (19M) recently. My older brother likes to use this site to get opinions after arguments with his girlfriends, so I thought I’d give it a shot as I am not sure how to proceed.
For context, I work for my father in our family business and a few weeks ago I was picking up a business partner from the airport as part of our work. His long hair is neatly braided over his shoulder, and a single earring dangles from his ear. The glint in his eyes is sharp with interest.
“A puppy?” the man muses.
Xia Fei growls, ready to bite that smug grin off his face. But before he can act, the man pulls him close, cradling him against his chest. He gently strokes his fur, completely unfazed by the grime. The muscles that had been tense immediately relax, Xia Fei’s defenses melting away in the warmth of the man’s embrace.
He helplessly snuggles in closer.
The man lets out a sigh. “What am I to do if you can’t take care of yourself...? I guess I’ll just have to take you in.”
Cold and wet puppy Xia Fei gets picked up by a stranger one ordinary day.
