Jon tries the sex thing. He tries in high school with a boy he thinks he likes, all dark brown curls and pretty smiles. As far as said boy is concerned, it’s pretty nice, but Jon spends the next day locked in his room, drifting in and out of a panic attack, trying to forget how wrong it had felt. But that’s how sex in high school goes, right? You do it with the wrong person, at the wrong time, it’s bad and messy and awkward, and you’ll laugh about it in a few years.

The thing about Wembley Stadium during the FA Cup final was that it was really, really supposed to be full of people. Instead, 90,000 seats sat impossibly empty. Cameras rolled down tracks beside the pitch, humming against their metal railings with no one to stop or guide them. The great, burning white stadium lights burned down on the unnaturally green field of the pitch itself.

Bad Things Happen Bingo: "Doesn't Realise They've Been Injured"
“We did it! We won! Jon, I - ,” whatever Martin had been about to say falls from his lips with his laugh as he looks at Jon. “What’s wrong?” He’s running his eyes over Jon, sharp and calculating in his worry, and when he sees nothing: because Jon is, impossibly, uninjured - Martin turns to look around them at the battlefield, through the drifting smoke. Jon steps forward. He needs to speak. He needs to say something. Anything.
But he can’t.
Martin turns back to him again, and his frown is deeper. There are smudges of oil and ash on his cheeks and his hair is a tangled mess and the air is sour with the acrid smell of burning plastic and they won, and that should be enough.
But then Martin looks down, following Jon’s panicked stare, and he sees the twisted lance of coal and plastic and steel protruding from his abdomen. Martin looks up, and his smile wavers. “Oh. Right.”

"What are you?"
The answer comes quick, enthusastic:
"I'm fairly certain I'm intended as a, uh, gift."
Jon predictably falters.
"I'm sorry, a what?"
"You know, a present. Something given without the expectation of return or payment. Not big on birthdays as a kid, huh? That's sad."
"I know what a gift is. What I don't understand is how you classify as one."
"Aw, now that hurts." Gerard cuts a smile from under the hair falling over his face, sun catching on the metal of his piercings as he flexes his mouth,
"I was sent back by the man upstairs, I think. And by man I of course mean the demonic voyeur you're under the employ of."
"You were sent back to...to the institute? For what?"
"I think I was sent back to one specific member of the institute."
A falter, picked up quickly as Jon begins to understand:
"To...me?"

Gerry's sent back from the dead, but for what purpose he and Jon struggle to understand.
Set after episode 132 and before the events kicked off in 140, which are delayed by the modified canon. This is being written as season 4 releases so I've tried to keep everything as canon complaint as possible

Summary
The books dig into his chair, and he leans his head back, eyes fluttering closed. When he breathes, it smells like the crisp air of the forest, and he thinks he should leave, or at the very least worry that this is not what he thinks, that maybe it’s the coffin, pushing back -
Instead he licks his lips and says: “Martin?”
There’s no answer, but the bookcase moves again, and for a few seconds he is utterly trapped, the desk digging into his stomach; it’s painful, it’s heavy, and he loses his breath - but these days, it’s as close as he gets to an embrace.
