Summary
Jon doesn't have it in him to destroy Peter Lukas, and Peter is a sore loser. Instead of running back to the Tundra like Jonah expects, Peter bashes Jon over the head and brings him out to sea with him. Apocalypse averted, world saved, and most importantly Jonah Magnus punished for stacking the deck during their wager.
Peter never had a pet before, but he's certain that looking after the Archivist is exactly the same thing. He just needs to keep his new cat fed and entertained. How hard could it be?

Elias Bouchard didn't stay dead. This becomes rather complicated for him.
“You aren't supposed to be back in the office for another two weeks,” Martin accused. Elias blinked at him.
“I hardly see why this is an issue. Or any of your concern.”
“None of my concern?” Martin's voice pitched higher, and Elias leaned against the door frame, already feeling the strain of standing. “You almost died,” Martin scolded. “I ruined my jacket keeping pressure on-on the literal meathook sticking out of you while you laid there like a bloody pin cushion! And now, suddenly, it's ‘none of my concern’?” Elias stared at him.
“If you need your jacket replaced, I can certainly provide the appropriate funds. I'll arrange for the cost to be added to your next paycheck.”
“That's not the point!’ Martin splayed his hands wide.
