Sam narrows his eyes and stares at Bucky through the steam rising from his coffee mug. This is a trap, he's sure of that much, he's just not sure how.
"Uh... yes," he says cautiously.
"Wrong." Bucky looks up from his phone; there's something positively dangerous in the crinkles around his eyes. "According to this, your needs are getting absolutely railed by me."
Sam is very proud of the fact that he doesn't spittake his coffee all over the breakfast table.

It's a good time, except for the parts that are absolutely horrible.

Still, when Bucky sat down before sleep and thumbed open the copy, he felt once again like a teenager hiding in his room with questionable materials; typically from his family’s subscription to Life Quarterly, the kind of magazine that fitted Czechoslovakia politics, Sheboygan Boyscout interviews and garden tending tips in the same issue— Bucky didn’t care about the journalism, of course, it was mostly about the colored film pictures of Radio City Rockettes or what not, the salvation for every other sweaty, hormonal thirties’ kid who was too busy thinking about their next alone time to take in the virtue of abstinence.
Bucky flips to the part about Sam, who was clearly the Radio City Rockettes of this volume.
They had given him a two page spread. Centerfold treatment.

Sam sat on the far end, elbow resting on the armrest, socked foot pulled up onto the cushion. Bucky had wedged himself between the couch and the coffee table, back against the couch, his head resting near Sam’s knee. Not quite touching. But close. A mug balanced between his hands, steam curling up toward the ceiling fan.
On screen, something exploded. Probably a war movie. Probably not one either of them actually liked, if the glassy, half-bored looks on their faces were any indication. Then Sam reached down. Barely looking, hand dropping into Bucky’s space. Bucky didn’t even blink. Just leaned a fraction to the side, enough for Sam to tug the elastic band out of his hair.
Sarah’s mouth tightened. That’s suspicious. That’s weird.
