Summary
Sadness, anguish, despair, that had never been Viktor. Even as he had slowly crawled towards his death, as his cane turned into a crutch, and his cough turned hacking and bloody, Viktor had been driven to the point of obsession. He had been exhausted and sick and frustrated, but he had never once broken. Jayce didn't know how to deal with it.
Jayce doesn't go with Vi to destroy the Shimmer factory. He goes to the lab instead. This changes some things.

Summary
The Carte Blanche has been travelling through the Outer Rim for a few weeks now, and Vespa keeps waking up feeling worse and worse. She quickly realizes that it's her Outer heritage coming back to bite her, but before the crew can make a recuperation trip back to Sol, their ship breaks down—and Vespa is tasked with venturing out to buy the part they need to fix it.
