The first time it happens, Eijirou is stunned.
Completely floored.
They're sitting on the floor of Eijirou's room. The fan whirs around, adding a gentle hum of background noise to pair up with the boys' studying. Notes and textbooks are all around the floor, a few loose pages flitting up and down in the breeze from the fan. Golden afternoon sunlight filters in from the balcony windows, the flame curtains moving around like ocean waves. The muscle clock Eijirou got as a gift for making it into UA ticks slowly.
And right across from Eijirou, filling his vision, is Bakugou. He's sitting there, spinning his pencil dexterously around his fingers. And he's smiling, absentmindedly, as he stares at his paper, of the project he and Eijirou were parterned up to do.
The smile looks otherworldly.

Bakugou smiles for the first time in front of Eijirou.

“She draws dresses for money.” Katsuki says, leaning against Mitsuki’s leg. She pauses, looks up and meets a pair of huge red eyes. Dirty black bangs fall into them and stick to round sticky cheeks.
“Oh.” Mitsuki says, she glances at Katsuki. “Who’s this?”
“I’m Eijirou!” the new kid answers. He slurs his own name, the teeth packed in his mouth are all sharp edges that catch at his lips when he speaks. “I’m a dinosaur!” he tosses out little hands, dirty hands.

Realistically, Dabi should be mad.
Dabi should be mad because Hawks got hit with a quirk on patrol and didn’t tell him until it was too late; he didn’t text to cancel their meeting at Hawks’ place and didn’t even tell Dabi anything was up until he was playfully patting his shoulder, conveniently forgetting that the quirk was touch-activated.
After a sharp burst of light and a good minute of loud ringing in his ears, he came to, finding himself in Hawks’ body instead of his own. Hawks hadn’t even looked apologetic, either, just a little shocked while Dabi was trying to get a grip on what just happened and not freak out.
Hawks had looked taken aback but the expression was on Dabi’s own face and it was just- weird. And it could have been easily avoided.
So, all things considered, he should be mad. But he’s… not.
or: hawks and dabi swap bodies. dabi's forgotten what it feels like to be healthy.
