The first time we were discussing the politics of his homeworld and Rocky told me about this group I kinda brushed it off to be honest.
A small fraction of Eridians who are rumored to be almost as old as Erid itself and who never show themselves publicly, have a lot of influence over the entire planet and pull all the strings from the shadows? Yeah, no. That sounded a little bit too much like those conspiracy theories your illuminati obsessed neighbor would sprout at you in the elevator if you were unfortunate enough to be trapped in there with him on your way to work.
Which just shows that even with a doctorate in microbiology I am still an idiot because why do I constantly compare earth standards to an alien species?

Summary
Simon is very quiet during sex, not absence or disengagement. Simon was exquisitely present, every moment, he communicated with his body in ways that Grace had spent months learning to read with care; the particular quality of his breath, the way tension moved through him and released, the small trembles, the press of his hand, the way he moved or was still. All of it was legible to Grace now. He could read Simon's pleasure as clearly as a text.

Summary
Grace and Rocky are on their way to Erid when they encounter a strange terrestrial vessel that has somehow made its way to space. Their children will always look for something new, for something different, the ability to work and fail in life and meet other people along the way. After a movie night and seeing their children become curious on life on Earth.
Grace and Simon considered pulling the Hail Mary out of her retirement to go back to Earth in order to give their children the life they deserve.
