    “Fuck.” Shane melted into the strong hand at his neck, the pressure over his throat and the heat of the Alpha’s palm. “Fuck, that’s–” his eyes started to flutter closed, his knees going weak, but he heard the Alpha huff a laugh and immediately stiffened again. 

    “Don’t do that.” he warned. “Don’t laugh like me letting you put your hand on my throat is predictable submissive Omega behavior and you're making fun of me."

    “That is not why i was laughing.” Ilya squeezed Shane’s throat lightly, his thumb pressing over the suppressant patch covering the Omega's bonding spot and blocking his sweet scent. “I thought you would fight it, fight submitting. But you didn’t.”

    “No I–” Shane swallowed hard. “I like it.” 

    “Good.” Ilya smiled slow and a little dangerous, running his tongue over his bottom lip and then over the sharp ends of his fangs before he leaned in and growled into the Omega’s ear. “Now get on your knees.”

    Hollander looked up from where he was scratching his shoulder, lazily laying on the mess they had made of the bed.

    “What?” he mumbled, sitting up against the pillows. The silken sheets fell into his lap, a soft unnecessary expensive luxury for an apartment Hollander kept insisting was just an investment.

    “Lost my shirt,” Ilya clarified.

    Where Ilya loses some clothes and then finally puts together 1 + 1 and realizes Shane is not an alpha and where Shane is living through the slow realization that society's perfection does not fully exist.

    Under the guidance of his doctor and mostly out of desperation due to his last annual heat being severe enough to nearly land him in the hospital, Shane Hollander knows he needs to take a heat partner for the first time if he doesn’t want to end up in a cycle facility.
    With his options between hiring a comfort alpha or asking one Ilya Rozanov for help, the choice is clear to Shane. Even if it feels like he’s losing every shred of his dignity to ask his - rival? fuckbuddy? - whatever Rozanov is to help him through his heat, Rozanov is the only alpha he trusts enough to take care of him.
    Rozanov is due for his own rut and is more than happy to finally, finally have heat sex with Hollander. Which is why he says yes with no hesitation. No other reason, of course.
    Now they both just need to survive the week with their hearts intact, which is something far easier said than done.
