And yet, against all odds, they had come to rely on each other. Forced together by circumstance, they moved in a tense balance, exchanging conflicting words while sharing unspoken, wary respect. Their past lingered, unresolved and raw, but moments of unexpected vulnerability kept drawing them closer. Each felt the other’s pain and resilience, a bond neither could easily shake.
They hadn’t forgiven each other, not truly — but in their shared struggle, they found understanding. The question now is whether they could ever leave the past behind and start anew, or if the weight of history would always hold them back from the tentative connection growing between them.

Maggie inhaled a deep breath, “I don’t know what to do with you,” she exhaled, “or without you,” she confessed in a hushed tone.
“Just this.”
She tilted her face to look up at him.
“Just this is enough.”
As if to say —
I have already stolen everything and then some. You have already given more than anyone could ask. The worst part of me is part of you forever, and the best part of me exists because of you. I do not know who I am without you. I know who I was before you, but that was not me. I can only be me with you.
Just this is enough because how dare I push it further.
Just this because there is no turning back.
“Just this?,” Maggie asked in return, clinging to his body tighter than before.
“Just this,” Negan whispered, “whatever you want this to be.”

Picking up in the bar scene where we ended season 3, I put Maggie and Negan thorough approximately one hundred saw traps of my own creation and they finally stop fighting fate and get together.
