This is not how Steve expected to spend his summer. After graduating last year, he’d been working nonstop, saving up money to get out of this shithole town since college is definitely not in the cards for him. He had plans. But no, Robin had to corner him after he watched her walk the stage at graduation, saying she found them the perfect summer job. He was supposed to road trip to California in his beat up BMW, not babysit kids for weeks at a time. Steve really needs to learn how to say no to her.
Or, Steve’s roped into working at a summer camp and falls in love over the course of thirteen days—give or take.

It’s the same sentiment he echoed to Eddie the first time they had sex, the same night they got together. It holds such a deeper meaning now—Eddie has Steve for the rest of his life, if he’ll have him. It goes both ways, too. Eddie is the only person Steve wants and he thinks that’s never going to change. Eddie is it for him. He loves him so, so much and so deeply that he doesn’t think he’d ever be able to love another person again if something were to happen between them.
“Yeah, I do.”
Steve’s certain Eddie knows he loves him, even if he can’t bring himself to say it yet.

Steve’s seen Eddie perform before—multiple times, actually. He has a raw magnetism that attracts attention, and people just can’t keep their eyes off him. Steve can’t really blame them. He felt the same way the first time he sat in on a Corroded Coffin rehearsal. Eddie’s friends probably thought he looked so fucking stupid, the way he was staring at Eddie like he was the only thing in the whole world. And to Steve, he kind of is. When Eddie performs, he gets so lost in it. He has so much energy, love, and passion and it translates into whatever he does. Steve can’t look away from him.
Or, Eddie’s band books their first gig and Steve realizes he’s in love.
