When people think of Present Mic, most people laugh and think, “Present Mic is a bit of a ditz.”

I REALLY LIKED THE WAY THE CHARACTERS WERE HANDLED IM HERE!!
usually i find characters start to slip into an idealized version thats all sappy and cheesy and throw uppy but i legit really REALLY liked how the interactions were handled!
it subverted my expectations and i have to say the author really got mic’s character down to a T so it was a real treat to read this!!
i didnt check the date on this so WHO KNOWS it might be recent or late but knowing my luck its prob p late -

Summary
He throws punch after punch, but Hizashi ducks away from each one, blocking with his arms, redirecting each swing into open air.
Shouta could feel the gap opening up between them, feel the Earth falling apart, crumbling and disappearing down the crater. He could feel Hizashi getting further and further from him.

THIS WAS REALLY GOOD!!
the emotional beats were great, the characters felt realistic, it wasn’t incredibly fluffy or do the standard “i dont want to be a burden— im not good enough” thing with their characters, instead it focused on their ambitions and even hizashi’s need for greatness which i found really really interesting!
i loved the way this fic focused on different kind of emotions and it was such a treat to read yo! -

i did not expect this to be so good!! usually i like to stray away from angst stories since i see a lot of the same kinda stuff each time— but the author in this one made it feel really real! the issues i have are that the characters feel too much like caricatures and act like 14 y/os who just started dating, but in this story you can clearly feel the age and maturity of the characters.
besides that, the writing’s FANTASTIC! mainly the imagery used, it helps to visualize and ground the scenes so much better!
another late bookmark, but a still solid recom i have for a smaller realistic story -

Summary
Hizashi might be an ageless immortal demon, but really, he’s getting too old for this sort of thing. Running around like Hell’s own repo-man isn’t what it used to be, and frankly, the thought of the impending Apocalypse just bores him. Maybe he’ll call up a certain winged someone, and see if the two of them can’t find whatever magical thingamajig he’s meant to be after, and put a stop to all this.
If only any of them knew what the Heaven the thingamajig was supposed to look like.

im not really a fan of good omens or demon-angel dynamics in general, but i mainly wanted to compliment the wit and voice of the writer!
the added details, the lazy tone, really fits the pov of the character and it really does feel like it could’ve been taken directly put of good omens’ script!
so really big props for that!! -

i was initially hoping i could go “HELL YEAH ITS A RECENT BOOKMARK THIS TIME” but it barely falls under the category of recent, so still another one of those “oldie but goodie” fanfics!!
some topics brought up were really interesting i feel, the whole issue of pain and language, ok hear me out i sound a little cheesy, but its true!
as for other things i do like the way the writer characterizes yamada and aizawa and describes them in a more realistic manner its p epic
as for the au itself, im not going to go “MOST ORIGINAL THING IVE EVER READ” but it is p creative with the way they handle the topic and it fits well into both the canon story and the au itself -

i think this is my favorite erasermic fanfiction unironically
it doesnt have this whole amazing premise but i think it just.... HOWDO I SAY IT captures the feeling of youth so freaking well as well as making the scenario feel more present in the series
too many fanfics forget the whole premise of mha with the quirks and hero training and it just begins to feel like a regular high school but seeing the story feel more grounded in that universe makes the story just feel so much more solid!
and also im a sucker for camp stuff

Smacking the end of his pointer finger into the back of Aizawa's notebook, he bit out, “Just you watch, you bastard, I'll make you laugh if it's the last fucking thing I do!”
Or
Hizashi is a young teenage boy that goes a very, very round-about way to get to know someone. It all works out in the end.

another late one but I CAN DO WHAT I WANT!!!
anywho i really dug the characterization (i always do with the bookmarked ones) and i loved the take on hizashi’s character! i feel like people always write him as this really really fluffy nice character and i was getting kinda sick of it so its great to see him more energized in the hot headed spunky sort of way!
also love the class clown interpretation who’s got the class wrapped around his finger with his charisma, it’s preeetty great -

yooo also another horribly late bookmark but please dont murder me for getting into persona late i had the opportunity to get into it 3 years ago when my dad pushed it into my hands and told me it was good but i ignored him to play animal jam ahh good times
but in actuality this was another real fun one!
some scenes were just downright gold, not even kidding. i really adored the interpretations of the character and the scene in adachi’s dungeon and the redemption afterwards.
its literally fantastic and while some characterization feels forced and some places are a bit choppy, generally there are scenes that are just packed with interest and strong development!

chaosandmayhem’s story hasnt aged a bit since emat, ill be home for the holidays, and machines dont bleed— seriously.
reading this now is like i just got hit with nostalgia and wow
i feel like the author’s strength is definitely dialogue and scenario creativity! one minute you find yourself laughing at a witty line and the next you got yourself immersed in the both comedic but fascinating scenarios of thestory.
the characters are really strong and its definitely a good read! -

dont usually save bookmarks but i think im going to try to be more present now! (even though this fic’s terrrrribly old but hey— not too late to reread over things amiright)
i really like the approaches to the relationship here! i came in expecting another fluffy sappy story with the same premise and got myself waaay turned around — literally ive never read romance that felt this realistic?? its kinda insane, the whole “responsibility” thing and the weighing of the consequences was amazing. overall a nicely thoughtout thing with realistic character interactions ill recommend :))
