Maybe his brain wasn’t working today. After all he was tired, he, Yuuji and Nobara had been fighting curses for who knows how long and after that Gojo thought that it would be a fun idea to make them run laps for no good reason. So in conclusion he wasn’t thinking straight, or more like he wasn’t thinking at all. Why does he think this? Because he doesn’t register the next few words that came from his mouth, and when he does he wishes he hadn’t.

“You’re right, I’m not your Megumi, but I guess I’m a version of him.” He paused, thinking about how to best explain the absurd situation. Then again, it was Gojo. If anyone understood weird curse stuff it was him. “There was a curse I was fighting. Real creepy, it seemed to feed off doubts about making the wrong choice. It can hop through different universes, like different possible scenarios of reality.” He paused, straining to remember the events of last night. “I exorcised it last night, so this last switch must be the result of residual cursed energy. Hopefully it should only last max 24 hours.” Since it was the final blast of its curse energy, it probably took Megumi to a reality much farther away from his own, which is why he was stuck in the past.
Gojo sat on the edge of his bed. “Damn. So you, Oldgumi are now taking the place of our Megumi for a whole day. That’s hilarious.”

The man was laughing, and Shoko, who took the photo, only had half of her smile in frame too. Yuuta’s not asked much about it.

Megumi wasn’t sure when it started. It probably never did, it must have just been a part of him since he first breathed. The panic. The hiding. Tsumiki didn’t know much about it, and Megumi would rather be caught dead than tell Satoru that seeing an empty pantry made him freak out. Because that was what it was. Freaking out. So he didn’t say anything, which was a big lie to uphold for a nine year old. It was going to fall apart eventually.
