Summary
God, trying to keep up this back-and-forth, playing pretend that they're just living out another normal married day with a few speedbumps, is making her head hurt. Or maybe that's just residual stun from the blaster shot, or from the guard who hit her with the butt of his gun, or the fact that she hasn't eaten anything other than a few bites of a ration bar since the morning of her wedding.
(or, Buddy and Vespa have different ways of dealing with captivity.)

Summary
"He’s outside Ransom’s door again, hand raised to knock. His shadow’s shifting, and suddenly, he can’t be on the wrong side of one more door. He’s knocking before he even thinks the thought, three quiet knock, knock, knocks.
It doesn’t take long after that. The door was closed, but now it’s open. Ransom opens the door, face a mask of polished befuddlement. Juno doesn’t care. His muscles ease, shoulders sagging, arms dropping hands loosening from their fists. The door was closed, and now it’s open. A bomb didn’t even have to go off."
Or: Juno Steel and the tragedy of a closed door.

Summary
My head hits the wall hard.
I’m seeing starts but I feel the body of the Bad-Guy-On-Duty on me, I kick instinctively in front of me and he falls to the floor. I can barely register what just happened. I know I should tell the team, this building was supposed to be empty- “Shit!” The guy is getting up and ready to go again, I’m feeling dizzy as I brace for the fight.

Summary
It took Peter Nureyev far longer to connect the dots than he’d care to admit. He blames his own… biases during those first couple days for his original oversight. The rest he can’t really excuse.

Summary
But Rita’s no fool. Rita keeps track of these things, see, and she has a theory that she knows is right. She’s not about to look it up, because that’s an invasion of privacy and she doesn’t want to invade Mister Steel’s privacy, but there are too many pieces for there not to be a puzzle.
(A story about ghosts, and the people who become them.)

Bookmarker's Notes
“The first time you saw me,” Mister Steel - Juno, right now he’s Juno and that’s different - says slowly, “you already knew my name.”
“No, I didn’t.”
“You thought I was him.”
Rita pulls out her own breakfast burrito and sets about unwrapping it. “He wasn’t wrong, you know.”
Juno leans back, head colliding with the wall with a soft thump. “He was always saying that kind of thing, you know? Rock bottom, just means you can build. Fall down seven times, get up eight .”
“Oh, he said that one to me a lot. I asked him what to do if I fell down an eighth time.”
He snorts. “What’d he tell you?”
“That I was outta luck.”
Juno actually laughs at that, a weird, raw, wet laugh that kind of sounds like someone punched a hole in one of his lungs. “That sounds like him.”
