Summary
It was more of the fact that Richie’s body seriously hated him.
Sometimes he was fine and could sleep through the whole night and still not be awoken well past Mom pounding on the door. Other times he was wide eyed well into the late hours, and those sucked.
It was always a 50/50, and last night happened to be him being very unfortunate enough as to not get a blink of sleep.

richie is really. REALLY. tired. luckily, he has friends who are absolute heaven to fall asleep on ! the six times richie falls asleep around one other member of the losers club, and the one time he does it with them all.

But he could think of no death more beautiful for a dying father.
To have achieved it in protecting his son, cradled in the arms of a boy once too small to wrap his arms around his waist.
It pained him to leave his son so early, so abruptly, but if it had to happen, Bruce couldn’t think of a more worthwhile death.
“I love you.”
Bruce keeps dying. He does not know that he's already died multiple times today but his children do. And they're going to save him.
(Groundhog Day fic told entirely from the perspective of someone who doesn't remember the loop.)
